Jaksch,sumner and whiley were not recruited when sos was at carlton, in fact he was still gws list manager at the time. Phillips was traded to essendon last month, Kennedy is still playing for us and had a year where he found his feet, looking to become a really solid player for us, and pickett was always a high risk but high reward which unfortunately didn't work out. All of these players were bought in for mostly 2nd-4th round picks, so please, enlighten me on how your little smart ass comment justifies making sos look bad.

Honestly, he’s bloody hopeless. We clearly had a lot of currency but he did a tremendous job wasting it. I think some of his competitive playing instincts are useful when negotiating but I question his talent evaluation.

Some of our drafts were complete write offs and out initial list build and first draft which is the genesis of our success today was done by Neville Stibbart.

Old Nev departed before the first draft but it was his work at that draft as well as the 17yo pre listed kids. You will be way better off when SOS leaves.

Freo will be absolutely stoked with their haul. Reckon Melb have f’ed it tbh. Wanted us to bid on Green at #3 and then take Hayden Young once the Giants matched. He looks like absolute class and a blue-chip player, which we desperately need more of. Hope the lads drafted prove me wrong but Jackson at 3 is such a boom/bust pick and fills no obvious need. We're gonna have to hope like hell that he can develop some forward craft. Pickett at 10 also seems like a stretch, probably could have split that pick into 2 late first round picks and still have gotten him. Fuarkkk.

Why should we have bid on Green? didn't fit our plans. Pickett isn't a reach and we will see about Jackson, go home factor my worry.

why would Port do that? WC's 2020/1 will be around 20, so it's 22, 30 for 47, 20

I don't think Port want 47 anyway, so it would need to be all future picks -> 22 for 2020/1, 2020/2 (and haven't WC already given their 2020/1 to Geelong?

Correct, because all those players would still be at GWS if SOS hadn't have taken them to Carlton ;-)

That said, Carlton have done well here. Kemp I'd have taken at 9, so whatever they get is a bonus from when they traded down
