I posted this elsewhere but it is rel;evant in this thread as well...

2,000 in a stadium that holds 50,000 is more of the '10 diners in a pub stuff' that Marshall inflicted upon us a month ago. We can have 6,000 at a rally where there are no social distancing controls but only 2,000 at an event at which it is possible to social distance people 1.5 metres apart.

No hub snub: Buckley, Scott open to WA move if necessary

No co-incidence that the clubs from SA and WA are the first to go into hubs. I think the AFL were quietly hoping that the borders would open up early enough so no Vic clubs had to relocate to a hub in WA/SA/Qld.

The article says the AFL is expected to release its fixture for rounds six and seven after round three. Right now I think it's more likely that the Vic clubs will move to an interstate hub.

Their opinions don't count, it is up to Eddie, Jack and Patty was the Vics do

Only 2 positive tests reported in Australia today. NSW the only State to report a positive test.

16 cases over 4 days is Australia's lowest return since early March.

Hopefully we can keep this up.

Those 2 positives both overseas returns currently in quarantine.

Australia is not that far away from beating COVID-19. We just do not need any cases from last weekend's rallies and we need people to stay away from rallies for the next month.

Plenty of time to protest once we have nil transmission in the community. Listening tp Gladys this morning I reckon she is itching to throw NSW open. She kept mentioning NSW being the first to.

Iran opened up a month ago. Social distancing not happening. Now a rapidly developing second wave.

Dr. Anthony Fauci says coronavirus turned ‘out to be my worst nightmare’ and it ‘isn’t over’

This is an article about an interview Fauci did with CNBC. He is optimistic that a vaccine and therapeutics will be found. A few quotes:

The virus is “something that’s highly transmissible. ... In a period — if you just think about it — in a period of four months, it has devastated the world,”

Fauci said the virus is “very different” from other outbreaks such as Ebola and HIV. The virus jumped from an animal host and has a high degree of transmissibility and mortality, he said. It is historically one of the worst pandemics the world has ever experienced, he said, adding people have compared it to the 1918 flu.

Fauci said he is “very heartened” by the pharmaceutical industry, which he said, “stepped up to the plate” more than what the public saw with SARS, another disease caused by a coronavirus that emerged in the early 2000s.

There are more than 124 Covid-19 vaccines under development as of June 2, according to the World Health Organization.

“The industry is not stupid. They figured it out,” Fauci said. “There’s going to be more than one winner in the vaccine field because we’re going to need vaccines for the entire world. Billions and billions of doses. So I’m almost certain that we’re going to have multiple candidates that make it to the goal line get approved and get widely used.”

He expressed optimism for therapeutics as well, saying he thinks there will be “multiple.”

7 30 report had a story on the return of AFL footy featuring Port Adelaide.

Hope the club will upload or ABC put it up on a user friendly platform.

Got told 7 interviewed him at his house on the news - prob a beach of protocols. Pretty moronic by him if that’s the case

I’ve not seen any of it

Nothing to see here ollie did a short interview which looked like was at his house no one else was around except him the reporter and cameraman I don't think there is an issue especially since it was outdoors and not inside his house.

Hardly moronic.

If AFL accredited media door stop or whatever interview format, you’d think the journalists would be following the AFL’s protocol guidelines too. Hard for an AFL player to say no to Channel 7.

surely would have been set up by the club? They wouldn’t just randomly pop around to his house.
