I wasn't really following the AFL response all that closely when it was happening. So is this close to the mark?
South Australia was proposed as a hub due to lack of COVID-19 cases. The AFL and AFLPA said no because the majority of players live in Vicroria and don't want to be uprooted from their families for an extended time period. Melbourne is instead made into a training and playing hub. Is this about right?
On a personal note, I have some friends who've lost their jobs during this crisis. If their employer came to them and said "you can keep your job but you must go and work at our Melbourne base for a month, all expenses paid" I'm almost certain all of them would have jumped at it. I'm so sick of these little upstart AFL players and their sheltered little Geelong Grammar, Caulfield Grammar or whatever Grammar upbringings. Youre all paid well to do something you love doing, so suck it up and move to an interstate hub for a few weeks for the good of the competition, you little shits.

Time and place.

15,000 people in the city gathered for hours yelling, coming and going on transport is a little different to supermarkets and family homes mate. With 3 positive protesters most like infectious on the day of them, its not pretty.

And the 3 in Victoria? Not good, but where are all the other cases like 25 a day coming from?

Victorian Health Minister Jenny Mikakos had this to say,

'We still have, obviously, a public health emergency in Victoria, it is still a very serious situation.'

The State of emergency in Victoria has been extended by four weeks and surely the pressure in mounting on the AFL to move the Victorian teams to interstate hubs so the competition can continue in safety.

In the past five days Victoria has recorded 26 cases of community infection. That is the highest 5 day figure since the 30 cases recorded on April 7-11th when it was considered to big a health risk to play any AFL footy at all.

Cheif health officer has said all close contacts of McKenna will now need to isolate for 14 days, will Essendon now be able to field a team ? So if the club has allowed McKenna to return to the club after an irregular result do they need to be made to forfeit games if they cant field a side ?

Wines got a week for an interview (outside, in a state with no cases) so what does McKenna get ? Especially if he is found to have gotten this breaking Covid restrictions ?

I have just heard Donald Trump say during his election rally that the US should scale back it's testing. The more you test the more people you find out there was Trump's reasoning. Of course the more you find out there the worse it looks for Donald Trump's election prospects.



Trump says roll back the testing despite an upsurge in cases since the opening of the US economy in early June.

The head shaking thing was there were people cheering and applauding as he was saying it.

Trump says he ordered a slowdown in coronavirus testing because it was adding to the number of cases

Describing testing as a "double-edged sword", the US President says he told authorities to slow down because it was adding to the number of COVID-19 infections being recorded.
