Rumour Carlton's Paddy Dow Has Requested A Trade

I honestly wouldn’t be fussed if we traded him for a second rounder at the end of the season. We are already stacked for inside midfielders, and I reckon another year of treading water will kill off any value he had.

As others have mentioned it’s not as though he has shown anything at this point. I can recall one nice running goal against Gold Coast and a semi-decent game against Geelong in his first year, and that is it.

You should apply the 24 hr rule before you post little Miss Schizenhouzen.

Walsh is having a cracker of a year after a slow start. Has polled votes from the coaches in his last three games, and will poll more votes as our best player last night. I don’t think many, including AFL coaches would agree with your mindless opinion that he’s crap.

Dow & O’Brien have had poor years and could well be busts, but I’m confident the club will develop them in to good AFL footy players. After all Dow has missed six months with a knee in his third year of footy, you know, like when Francis did his back and you made excuses for him😜.

As far as your other big statement; as an Essendon fan you would be a subject matter expert on players who can’t kick on their opposite side - Heppel, Merrett, and the top of the list Shiel are quite comedic when trying to use their right peg. Shiel on Thursday night was comedy gold!
Sorry to upset you champ, but someone had to break this news to you :)

Walsh polling votes for Carlton doesn't say much. Who else will poll them - VFL extraordinaire Micky Gibbons? Or maybe the half of your team that are filled with GWS rejects - and not the good ones lol. I'd be shocked if the number one draft picked *wasn't* polling votes in a B grade side. Doesn't change the fact that he'd be lucky to go top 10 in that draft and will easily have the least memorable career out of that lot. Well he might have Chayce Jones covered; so congrats on that.

Dow and O'Brien are busts. There isn't any *could be* about it.

Lmao the Merrett comment. Shows you have no idea. He's a better kick on his weak foot than anyone in your best 22 on their preferred. Plus I don't understand the relevance of that comment - Walsh can't kick on either foot let alone one.

Ah, Shiel. Still salty he rejected your mob? Even SOS's last minute begging and huge salary couldn't get the deal done. Not even the private jet worked! Lmao. That's alright though, at least you got Setterfield šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ More like Settlefield.

DOW isn't up to Afl standard...good 2s player at best, i'd be giving him to ever the **** wants him. The turnover in the 2nd quarter against GWS was a classic example of his shit disposal, 5m in the clear and still cant hit a target.

He could be one of those players that plays better at a different club, with a different coach and different style. Hes not working for us

Apart from all the absolute dribble you have posted, which I can’t be bothered responding to, the bolded shows how frighteningly ignorant you are.

I’ll spell it out for you because you are either 12 y.o or just don’t get it - When I said Walsh has polled coaches votes in our last four games, that’s an indicator that it’s the votes from BOTH coaches, not just Carlton’s. Do you get it or is it all still too hard to comprehend ā€˜champ’.

We’ll happily watch Walsh for the next 12 years, while we watch Shiel fumble and kick to his opposition for the next four.

Oooohh adelaide are crap. That showed me

Again, irrelevant to Dow being sh1t. Secondly, i admit we are sh*te. Thats the difference between a normal person and a footy nuffy. You being the latter
Or. It’s the difference between the nuffy opposition supporter with a chip on their shoulder taking pot shots at a 21 year old (returning from 5 months injury) vs a footy lover who knows the rigours all young footballers go through. You being the former.

I haven’t defended Dow’s footy. There’s no doubt he is underperforming; he has no composure with the ball and his skills are poor. I am however happy to give him time because he’s in his 3rd year, and returning from a serious knee injury. I’d think the majority of footy supporters do this for their high draft picks.

I’d by interested, as you have written paddy off after 3 years, how you view your own underperforming youngsters.

Darcy Fogarty (pick 11) - 17 games - couldn’t get a game in a winless team.
Jordan Gallucci (pick 15 of 2016 draft) - 27 games (has played two good games) and done his knee.

Have you applied the rules you applied to Dow to your own players? Have you written them both off? Will you write off Gallucci after playing his first two games back from injury? Fogarty Looks slow and cumbersome, do you write him off (like Dow) or hope the club develops him? I think we all know the answer.

It’s a tough call with high draft picks. He has so many flaws, but also some qualities that ranked him so high in the draft.

I’m happy to hold on to him and trust the club to develop him. Regardless, he’d be worth SFA to trade.

Same was said about Sam Frost but he improved massively this year. He and Day have been wonderful additions.

I always wonder about whether a new coach can correct skill deficiencies or its too late by the time they reach the AFL.
That’s a lie re Sam Frost.

Maybe could start with Sam Walsh? Would be lucky to go top 10 if that draft was done again.

Sam Walsh has undeniably been Carlton's best player over the past eight rounds, by a fair margin as well imo. What other second year player is doing that?

This is among the shittest takes that have ever been produced wow.

pretty bizarre he ever went that high. not criticising SOS there, just more a comment on how dumb the whole "afl industry" is. the guy has no physical game and not even the body to really develop one. he has terrible skills too. yet somehow he was a widely accepted first rounder as an 'explosive midfielder'...

the mind boggles

Did you really expect him to say something different ??

Jack Martin publically told the footy world that he was very happy at the Suns initially and look where he is now.

Same with Lachie Henderson. He was interviewed on SEN on told Andy Maher he wanted to stay at Carlton.

Agreed, plus recruiters weight the Championships games higher and Dow did really well in those contests which propelled him into top 5 calculations despite playing little TAC Cup footy.

He then dominated at the draft combine, and there was never any doubt he’d go early.

In hindsight we should have gone for the safer choice in Cerra.

Best player at Carlton doesn't mean much. I could lace up for them and probably poll some coaches votes. If Matt Kennedy doesn't take them off me of course.
