That's what I thought and liked your post but its not the case. Looking at the full trades at
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019_AFL_draft and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018_AFL_draft
We started with picks
10 ( pick 9 then first GC concession pick pre Rd 1 makes it pick 10,) and
29 (then 18 more + 2nd additional GC priority pick at start of Rd 2),
(pick 50 ie 29+18+3 free agency compo picks = 50 traded away with Wingard) and
66 as part of 2018 Polec and Pittard trade with NM and
67 as part of 2018 Hombsch trade with GC but GC received from Adelaide and
68 our normal 4th round pick and
71 as part of 2018 Wingard trade with Hawks but hawks received from WB
We traded with St Kilda
Out 10 + Dougal + Paddy + 2020 Port Rd 4 pick
In.. 12 + 18 + 2020 Stk Rd 3 pick (at moment approx pick 50)
Then traded with Brisbane
Out 29 + 71 + 2020 Port Rd 1 pick
In.. 16 + 52 + 55 + 72
Pick 12 from St K becomes Pick 14 after 2 NGA bids matched and get Bergman
Pick 16 from Brisbane becomes Pick 18 after 2 NGA bids matched and get Georgiades
Pick 18 from St K becomes pick 20 and end of day 1 we trade that with Carlton and get picks 22 + 55
Pick 22 from Carlton gets us Dylan Williams.
So the StK trade for Ryder and Howard
directly got us Bergman but we could have used pick 10 on him so effective trade was
directly got us Williams
indirectly helped us get pts to bid on Mead ie pick 55 last year
indirectly will help us with pts to bid on Jones and/or Schofield ie StK's 3rd round pick this year
Pick 50 = 273 pts but because of 197 pt discount for picks after 18, that effectively is worth pick 38 if we have to make a matching bid at Pick 38 = 465 pts
Mate your the guru,
Still where is our 200cm defender with 5!years in the system, more importantly (Kens system)...not hating on anyone just saying.
