Because they thought we'd be hitting big numbers whereas we've added 3 in 2 days. They had already identified the pizza place as a hotspot. Everybody who had been there or had delivery were asked to get tested. Which they'd have done regardless of how that guy came into contact with the virus. So as those people roll through and come back with negative results they realise that this guy is an isolated example rather than the norm as far as customers go.
Most who have been positive have not been showing symptoms... including case #1 in ED. This is a major factor in going hard early as we don't really know how many positive cases there are in the community
.

We are probably the only jurisdiction in tge world to go into such a strict lockdown with less than 25 (non quarantined) cases.

What happens the next time we get 15 or so cases. Lockdown again?

No, NZ acted in a similar way.

Weren't the NZ cases from different sources, including an unknown one (or more)?

Here all 22 cases have a direct link to each other.

NZ had far more justification to go early.

Here they stuffed up, knew it (after the mass testing by the public) and luckily had a reason to roll it back.

Thinking like yours that lockdown should be avoided unless it's clear you've got a huge outbreak is what f’ed Victoria.
Lockdowns should be avoided period.
That should be the last of a long list of measures. Proven emphatically today.

I can tolerate New Zealand because they were transparent and put their plan in writing and publicly from the get go with what was required to get out of it.

We just jumped at ghosts.

20+ COVID outbreak with quick infection rate & many asymptomatic is hardly jumping at ghosts.

SA government showed they have a plan as they acted swiftly... unlike Victoria or much of the world who dawdled & wore the worse consequences.

It wasnt quick infection rate.
It was a normal infection rate. It was just that most of them were asymptomatic and didnt bother to get tested until a close contact tested positive. Then a group tests, and they all test positive and are self isolating.

They thought it was quick infection rate due to old mate lying, thats been the whole issue.

Yes, of course. Let’s not concern ourselves that their economy is now totally open (exc international tourists).

I’d rather go into lockdown for 6 days rather than 1 month than you very much.
Well considering their economy is reliant on tourism I’m sure the place is booming currently.

What do you believe

1) 1 person in an isolated incident

2) 12 months of worldwide research from a plethora of people who specialise in the field

Such an Adelaide thing for the state to be put in lockdown because a business was doing the dodgy and had to lie about it.

If you ever wondered where the crows got their culture from...

Trigg is thinking "damn, why didn't I blame the pizza guy?"

In a worldwide pandemic that has killed over a million and destroyed many parts of the world be it business, tourism etc, the fact that this has so far barely impacted our lives at all and to that extent for about ~48hours, the SA Govt has my vote of support.

The point in which it is proven there is a case outside of the group of people who knew each other (ie genuine community transmission), lockdown.

That never happened.

We saw panic buying, lost wages, events cancelled, whole industries shut down etc.

It was a poor decision. Went all in with 10 and Ace hoping for the flop.
But, based in the info they had, that WAS what had happened. That's what this whole 'lie' thing is about... :moustache:

This is called perspective.

We are lucky where we live. Saw lots of mums and dads with their kids out walking this arvo.
