Alright. Shut-up you dumb campaigner and get with the program. :tongueout:

In all seriousness I see your point about KPFs and I don't really agree.

If you take the guys we've been grabbing at the draft for the last two or so years leadership skills and character have been some of the common traits. It's something the club seem to be valuing more under J-Lo and Bell, and if you keep in mind they were part of a Freo side that had all the talent in the world and little of the discipline needed to win a flag with it it's not a shock they're moving on the guys who seem to lack discipline. I don't think McCarthy or Hogan had the right to expect a list spot just because they were good a few years ago.

Couldn’t agree more but our Essendon / Dodoro style whiteboard should of had 1 word on it this year

I think people forget that 2 of our key backs in Cox and Pearce were mostly key forwards before their AFL careers at Freo.
Rather then the calls to chuck a Logue or Hamling forward lets look at Cox and Pearce as options given they spent years as juniors playing forward and would not be learning their forward craft from scratch.
I think you forgot how dire Pearce was when he was tried forward. Logue looked way more comfortable than Pearce.

Cox I am fine with playing forward.

My memory of Pearce forward was him taking marks on the lead and then kicking like he had been training as a defender all preseason.

Similar to that time Taberner was tried in defense after finding out when he arrived at the ground that he wasn't playing forward.

Gotta say I think our list management have done a great job this year given the hand they were dealt. It was the right thing to stay out of the trade period in respect of getting players in and focusing on getting more quality kids through the door.
For mine they've ticked the boxes in respect of outside speed, developing kpf and some high end talent in Chapman and O'Driscoll.

We are on 43, but have six category A rookies. If we had 37 primary listed players we could only have five category A rookies. The extra player we can pick up is the category B rookie to get us to 44 max on the list.

They want teams to have 42 players excluding cat-bs. Either 36 primary and 6 rookie, 37 primary and 5 rookie or 38 primary and 4 rookie.

We are full, unless someone is injured and long term injury listed or we add a category B qualifying player. Given the lack of international options for middling elite athletes this year we might be able to find an Australian cross code player, perhaps a basketballer who had played footy when they were younger but moved to basketball and hasn't played AFL for three years.

We could fill a ruck spot with that player.
It sounds like you may have someone in mind?

I think they've also set themselves up well for the 2021 trade and draft period.

If they can arrange extensions for Brayshaw, Cerra, Tucker and Taberner early in 2021 then we have all our best talent locked in (exc Mundy) and of the rest we'll only be carrying Blakely into 2022 (his long contract was a mistake).

Bewley, Giro, Banfield, Crowden, Colyer, Switta, Schultz, Meek, Hill, Wilson, Hughes, Conca, Duman, Watson and Thomas all out of contract at the end of next year. These guys all get a year to earn staying on the list. Should make list management much easier to give us list space for recruiting (by both trade and drafting) next year.

I agree with tonygeeks it's the lack of pressure on Lobb that is the standout list problem now. His output was piss poor this year for what he costs us in salary.
Can Pearce ruck? We need a lobb back up, even second ruck as a defender- ruck rather than forward- ruck could work.

We will be flicking good AFL level players for peanuts in next years trade period because of a lack of game time in 2021

We probably lost about 40% of the career goals on the list with the players we dumped and replaced them with what exactly ?
stop gap maybes who have a dozen goals between them

I like a nice balanced list where every player has someone breathing down their neck

Who’s breathing down Lobbs neck if he carry’s on dishing up the crap he dished up last year

Draft picks who MIGHT be upgrades on players who are already perfectly capable in their preferred positions

I give our 2020 off-season 3/10 but but but best availbles

So at #14 we should have picked, say, Matt Allison or Shannon Neale instead of Chapman so Lobb could feel under pressure?

At this stage Cox is the pressure on Lobb. Which is complicated given his terrific showing in defence this season. Another positive is Meek should be ready to cover any Darcy injuries which would have impacted Lobb.

Anyway, I remain optimistic about Lobb.
Can Cox ruck?

He was serviceable for a bloke miles under size when he did it a couple of years ago. Can't be worse than Grigg or Dunkley.
Which is good enough as back up. He is arguably a better forward option than Lobb. On balance, given he is not quite locked in best 22, that is some pressure on Lobb’s performance.

Also, I don't want to go early but with our haul this year including noted gun KPF Treacy on board pretty sure we are setup for a dynasty.

Think it might be easier to move to Melbourne for the 2020s as it might be easier than ****ing around getting flights there every September.

Agree but the problem is there wasn't a solution available for this. Nobody we could have drafted would be applying pressure for at least a couple of years and there were no obvious trade targets, well perhaps there were but we'd likely be criticising wasting list spots on them if we'd grabbed them.

I think pressure can still be applied by us considering more of a pinch hitter to chop out for Darcy rather than playing a ruck/forward like Lobb.

Bell was on 6PR just now and said that we are done,,the 2021 list is complete.

So that means 36 on main list, 6 Cat A and 1 Cat B ... 43 in all. Plenty of room to add another player in mid-season draft if required.

No there isn’t. Bar the Category B rookie list we’re at the max number and you can’t draft Category B rookies in the mid season draft...

We need someone to get a season ending injury, which we all obviously hope doesn’t happen by round 11.

Could we upgrade someone like Hughes to the senior list to open up a rookie spotnif need be?

Goal kicking aside Lobb was actually pretty solid last year.

Goal kicking has been a problem one season in his career, so I’m confident he’ll turn it around.
