If you read what I wrote, I meant for Round 1 - players that normally wouldn't be available, likely will be available now. A couple of late alignment changes apparently happened thanks to substantial offers, whether they fit in a kitchen sink or not.

The use of "apparently" sums you up, you're either guessing or making shit up.

Happy to confirm we had an aligned player (played for us last year also), agreed to terms, contracted contact me Saturday morning to notify of a change in alignment.

More to do with location perhaps, not really sure.

Your excessive use of commas always is hard for me to handle

Maroochydore
Labrador
Broadbeach
PBC
Mt Gravatt
Sherwood
Grange
Redlands
Noosa
Morningside
Surfers

big call on Maroochydore dusty. What are you basing that on? I had a lot of respect for how they went about it last year but my view is it gets harder this year as they have a SC competitor.
Also a big call for the premier to go to second last. I’d be shocked if that happens although by all reports they’ve lost a few.
Interesting...

Coming into winter, and already a 3 day covid shutdown.. in QLD!

It will only take one of the 3 states to shutdown over the next 3 months (30th june cut off date for player movement?) and the 'VFL' is cactus, and the QAFL (if we arent the ones shut down) gets flooded with VFL talent.

Who wins the comp? The clubs getting some agreements NOW with VFL aligned players (managers) in the case the above happens. And it likely will.

Player managers (access to non resident players) will be a lot more prepared after last season and there may be more than just QLD residents up for grabs in the event a state other than QLD shuts down and a lot of player movement north.

In the case there is NO covid shutdown;

Labrador
Broadbeach
PBC
Sherwood
Redlands
Maroochy
Also rans.

I think after looking at these predictions there’s a lot of psychic’s out there .

With such dramatic changes to lists since last season, more travel and many clubs with huge injury lists it’s way to early to make predictions.

I still believe that comp will be far closer than everyone thinks and it will come down to who has the least amount of injuries full stop.

At full strength any club will be very hard to beat. I prefer to look at clubs that have had a consistent list for a few years over teams that have large turnovers and the longevity of a coach.

Consistency helps with structure and team cohesion and new coaches can struggle in their first season or two as they feel out their club and their players

Perhaps my prediction of Labrador at the top is a bit of a wild guess based on an uninjured list. However, BB, PBC is based on history and depth. Redlands recruited 20 former NEAFL players. Only 10 on the park is going to be an advantage. Maroochy im thinking they made the finals last year without too many imports and will be better this year from having the experience. Sherwood, got there last year, have added to their list and i like the coach.

No use having a deep well of average, which is what i see in Morningside, Mt Gravatt. Grange could be bolters due to their promotion of junior talent, which sees them as an unknown quantity.

Interesting considering Morningside won both the reserves and seniors...

They basically lost their 1st over the off season, NEALF guys gone, Coleman, Crozier, Wishnat, Colenso, Tasker (who would play 1st this year) gone, and a few others. Reserves will have to step up to 1sts. Have a lot of players listed apparently. A deep well of average.

without the innuendo and rumour (yes, I am guilty of this all the time) genuinely how many of the Premiership 22 do you think Morningside have retained? (Same goes for the cats GF 22)

My best guess would be 5 or 6. Thats a fairly decent hole to fill, history suggests they will fill it - but probably not to the same level.

My ladder:

Labrador
Maroochydore
Redland
Sherwood
PBC
Broadbeach
Noosa
Mt Gravatt
Morningside
Grange
Surfers

Pretty bullish on that top 3, reckon you probably through a blanket over 4-9, while I feel Grange and Surfers will struggle again.

If the VFL is cancelled, the competition gets blown wide open - but would think that much like last year, all the alignments will be blown up and players can negotiate from a position of being available full-time.

I do like the look of Labrador, Pearce Hanley is the best player this competition has had in 10 years and they have good talls and have recruited well to support the big guns.

They win with a stack of NEAFL players.

if you go back to the practice game last year. They beat grange by 5 points with no NEAFL players. That’s why I think they’ll be around the bottom. A few have gone to yeronga as well

Miller,
Broady have retained some 10 or 11 of last years grand final side and another 4 or 5 have aligned with Southport and if they dont make the team on gameday they will come back and play for us again. Not to mention we have some good ypungsters progressing and have recruited a few very good players with quality resumes. We will be right up there again .

The VFL will not be cancelled, Aspley received an email saying worst case scenario they stay in Queensland early rounds instead of playing Port Melbourne they will play Brisbane , Suns and Southport.( Play each other until they can go interstate). All these teams are meeting each other twice throughout the 2021 season already.
