We've still got the Zerk as well, he's not best 22 when people aren't injured but he doesn't disgrace himself either.
I may be the only one who thinks this but we still look undersized in defence.

Yes, but Reid can basically solve that, what remains to be seen is whether we could play an extra tall with existing personnel.

Is Heppell, Ridley, Redman, Hind, Stewart, Laverde and Reid too cumbersome?

For me of the players on our list that our out of contract I'd delist/retire 5 ASAP;- Cahill, Zakka, Mozzie, Johnson & Ambrose

Gleeson & Cutler I'd keep - they've shown enough to prove they can be handy depth

Zerk is handy KPD depth so he stays, as is Hooker who is handy KPF depth, and even though he cant run & has his critics hes still kicked 33 goals this year so he's worth keeping - just put him on the rookie list along with Hird also

Guelfi and Francis (though contracted in 2022) may go - I'd try keep both or at least one, both have currency though so if we lose either (or both) we should get something in return

Phillips is a must keep, and I'd be keen to keep the rookies Clarke, McBride, Durham & Baldwin for 1 more year
I agree with this.
I'd say Francis is critical to keep. But that's likely more in his hands.
Flip is ideal as the call on in an emergency ruck.

Inward i'd be looking at what cost of 2 of Brodie, Constable & Lipinski would be, plus Schulz (Small forward) & Young (KPD/F)

there's a lot of eggs in young baskets at our key posts
Eyre, Brand, Reid, Baldwin, McBride

Going after young, but more advanced prospects not the worst thing to do.
If we end up with a bunch of them, we cover the losses of Hurley, Hooker & Ambrose & we can target other things we need come draft time.

No. It's basically the same as what the current top 5 run.

Yes, and we shouldn't be counting them all just yet.

If Francis is going to settle forward, then our stocks are as followed guaranteed for next year

Key Forwards: Wright, Francis, Jones, Eyre
Key Backs: Stewart, Laverde, Reid, Ridley (sorta), Brand
Swing: Hurley, McBride
OOC: Hooker, Ambrose

Looking at that we seem to have a solid option or two and enough developing options either end of the ground. Probably could use another experienced option at both though.

I'd swap McBride and Eyre based on the VFL this year but yeah, pretty much

Fair to say I won’t be disappointed if we go for a hard working runner (fwd/mid OR def/mid) over that big bodied mid we all so desperately want.

The fwd/mid version should be capable in the air whilst the def/mid version should be a decent runner &/or kick.

The I would say you have not read the list. We have quality at the top end. What we need is a 200 game workhorse. Curnow has been a great workhorse for the Blues.

Ed Curnow gets criminally underrated. Absolutely the kind of player every side needs. Will go out every week and give 100% effort to do exactly what the coach asks of them.
