Carlton are a pathetic organisation. Incredible to see how far that place has fallen - used to respect the club when I was growing up in the 1980s.

I’ve always hoped the review is transparent in its recommendations and subsequent actions.

MLG and Judd left the board independent of the review. Sayers (moving from board member to President) and Williams are replacements.

Assistant Coach Barker leaving was independent of the review findings.

The outcome and actions of the review are still to come.

If that was the "missing pieces of the jigsaw" then be prepared for a very ordinary picture.

Talked up as a big thing but ended up as John Kennedy once said, "nice sizzle but where's the sausage".

Roscoe is a smart man, he'll take a long contract and a payout if they fire him.

We will get a summary once all this is over. The idea is to protect 'good Carlton people', but obviously it doesn't protect those who are given the flick.

It is clear that the mid-season departure announcements were part of the angst behind the scenes, so while the review didn't bring about the changes, some seemed to have seen the writing on the wall and jumped, so same/same for me. MLG though, was a result of having reached his term limit.

For sure, which is why we just have to take it for the most part. Eventually, people will move on to another team but we are the gift who keep on giving. Most of our detractors don't actually wish the best for us, so their criticisms are disingenuous anyway.

No doubt Carlton have f’ed up their handling of this review/sacking of Teague/appointment of new coach but I don’t see it harming them too much.

Footy is an industry where the ends often justify the means. If Carlton land a decent coach and improve next year no one will give a sh*t what happened to Teague.

Exactly.

You can argue over the optics of it and present some bleeding heart account over the way Teague was made to wait an additional couple of days but football is a business and if you’re going to commit to a full scale review you can’t take shortcuts and compromise your actions.

The fact the club didn’t cave to media pressure or leak any information shows some clear progress at board level.

Teague was a horrendous coach, there’s no two ways about it.

His winning percentage dropped every single year despite additional senior players added each off-season, the club sat 17th for wins against top 8 clubs, played a cooked Marc Murphy to get him to 300 games (who then decided to call it quits after his milestone match, the snake) and couldn’t coach his way out of a paper bag on game day.

His time was up.
