You'll never guess what the 2021 free kick differential chart looks like

The reason people are referencing historical incidents is because there are examples that have occurred previously and clearly that has carried through to 2021. It’s been an issue for a while.

Why is there still a free kick differential in 2021 when 5 years ago you were obviously favoured in the GF? It’s an issue you have exacerbated and your players are clearly taught to exploit the ruling.

Are you seriously going to argue that Andrew Newbold, the AFL CC at the time, was not out of line saying he wanted a Dogs flag? This is the AFL CC. That just completely contravenes any element of neutrality.

“Hawthorn knew we wouldn’t win every year. It would be great to see someone else have a go. Those little things I think would be very satisfying.”

You seem to be stuck in your own imagination sadly. We had a magnificent 2016, winning 15 games and then played a wonderful finals series. I refuse to accept we got to that point because of what Newbold said above.

Please stop quoting me- I have already Beaten you twice in this thread. You stated our free Kick differential was so big because of our flopping and ducking. Yet we aren’t even on top for frees for. In fact we’re nowhere near on top. It’s big because of our frees against, which for some reason, nobody on here can mention why.

Are richmond and dogs outliers? obviously.

why? I know it doesnt support the narrative of the tinfoil hat brigade, but if you look at the actual reason behind the outlier its easy to see the reason is the dogs dont receive significantly more frees than other teams, its that they give away significantly less.

The teams that give away the most frees - by far - are Sydney, Brisbane and Richmond.

is this because?

a) Collectively, most umpires personally support the dogs and hate the tigers, and treat those two teams differently on field.
b) Its an AFL conspiracy! and they direct the umpires to treat those two teams differently
c) Richmond and the dogs play different brands of football

I you choose a) or b), then obviously you are a moron. Enjoy your logic free life, but dont expect others to take you seriously. Particularly if you are a btt hrt sydney supporter looking to rationalise old GF losses as some kind of conspiracy

Bulldogs also earn more than most teams. Richmond also earn much less than most teams.

The data isn't proof of anything in and of itself, but if you think the only logical conclusion to draw from it is that the Bulldogs and Richmond play with such unique and divergent 'brands' of football that they should be not only polar opposites of each other, but significantly separated from the other 16 clubs who are all grouped together, I'd be careful who you're calling a moron.

Haha we’re ranked fourth in the league for free kicks for. Yet we get smashed for the free kick differential for flopping and ducking. How have we managed to keep our frees against so low? Shouldn’t that be the argument???

Not getting called on dropped balls, being tackled and other forms of incorrect disposal that other teams are pinged for, to be honest. It's at the point where it is difficult to watch the dogs.

rubbish. you either think there is some sort of coordinated favouritism going on, or you dont. If you do, youre a moron.

Deliberately infringing as far as you can go and hoping the umps dont see it is a legitimate tactic - maybe holding, pushing in the back, throwing the ball, punching someone off the ball, illegal shepards, drawing a head high tackle. the list goes on. You dont need a conspiracy to account for discrepancies in free kick counts.

Being tackled is now a free kick is it?
We got done for 3 throws yesterday and 2 50m penalties. Nobody is asking you to watch us. Turn the tv off and do something else.

If I was a Bulldogs supporter I'd just shut my trap really. The blatant favouritism since 2016 has been astounding to the point it's actually maddening to watch them play.

I actually find the most interesting part about watching them play is the evolution in their staging techniques.

It is taken as read they throw - "flipping it around/flicking around/not sure how he got rid of that one" - but they've really worked some new routines into their draw the head high free now.

If you watched our games, you’d see the umps are onto the throws now. 3 yesterday and 2 last Friday night. But I’m sure you’d be able to “find more”. Even though you won’t and haven’t seen them.

I think that umpires are human and prone to bias and influence from players, coaches, fans, the media.

Until I'm presented with evidence otherwise I choose to believe this is unconscious rather than some coordinated head office mandate.

I can’t think of one good reason other than we’re a likeable club. Yet then Bevo seems to open his mouth a lot and criticises the afl…

Even the commentators are starting to call out their throws with the old "interesting handpass" and "Not sure how he got rid of that one.." becoming more and more frequent every time you watch them play.
