Clavarino gone apparently
Another delisted
We must have some coming because lots are going

Interesting. Would’ve thought there were many more going before him.
How do we replace -

Robbo
Carlisle
Frawley
Assuming McKernan
Assuming Hunter
Dunstan
Ross ?
Alabakis
Clavarino

must mean Joyce is safe

Ross and Joyce are basically now definite keeps

We must seriously have something up our sleeves if we are letting go 6-8 players this year

George predicted 11 players to go a few weeks back so more to come
No that was just an opinion of how many I thought wouldn't surprise me to see get delisted

Hunter may stay
Joyce stays for sure
Is Dunstan 100% out?
He wasn’t keen on a rookie spot at GC apparently, would that mean he is delisted..? GC struggling with lists spots from all accounts accounts..

I'd be quite disappointed if Clav is gone. I thought he was decent in his few senior opportunities and is just hitting the age where he would be physically capable of playing AFL footy.

Tall defenders out:

Carlisle
Frawley
Roberton
Clavarino

Surely we're going to target a readymade opposition player in the trade period. I don't want to see Wilkie/Highmore/Coffield playing on key forwards. We were a much better team with Howard and Carlisle playing together.

Seems an odd move if true. The club needs both depth with key defenders, as well as a replacement for the bigger bodied retirees. Clav was showing a bit and worth a rookie listing. If he's off then I can only hope the club is on top of it.

We all know key positional players with ability are hard to come by so Clavarino must of been way off the pace if he has been delisted.
Battle and Joyce will be our remaining players who can fill the role and if Howard goes down we are going to be in trouble.
Having Carlisle , Clavarino , Roberton , Frawley , McKernan , Dunstan , Alabakis all moved on we have at least 7 spots to fill and it could well be more so they must know they can fill the void somehow.
Just using our draft picks and a couple picks in the rookie draft we could easily pick up 5 kids and see what players are delisted from clubs to fill the role players they need but I really feel they may have already sorted a player already if they have delisted Oscar.
By the looks PHunter will be kept in the squad to replace Alabakis and the way they have been plucking players from the SAFL they may well have another player heading our way.
If only we had a 2nd round draft pick because this Bazzo kid from the WAFL is what we need to replace Oscar , he is capable of filling the key position now - the reason I'm saying this is because he is currently playing for Swan Districts at seniors level and they are brilliant at development - you only have to look at Denver - Granger at Hawthorn or Sam Taylor at GWS and the talent developed at the club is always of a high standard like Lachie Neale , Coniglio , Charlie Cameron , M.Walters , Nic Nat and before that Garry Sidebottom , Phil Narkle , Leon Baker , Simon Beasley , Michael Richardson , Scott Cummings , Andrew Embley , Andrew Krackouer- the list is long.

I've got to say- I love that list of names [emoji7]
Clavarino is questionable but I'll back the Club.

Other than that, look at the dollars and list cloggers we're shedding from our List! [emoji383][emoji383]

If I'm understanding the system correctly, given Schenslong (not sure of spelling) was delisted by the Cats, he can be picked up as a DFA?

If that's the case, I hope we are throwing some very decent contract offers at him and others like him to fill that KPD gap. (Decent for a FA that is.)

We do not need to use our high picks on a KPD when we decent contributors can be found on the cheap (see Mitch Brown at the Saints, Roughhead at Coll, McKenzie at Port).

With Howard and our intercept threats assisting in the air (Coffield, Highmore, Wilkie) and Battle and Joyce in reserve- we don't need a star, we need a reliable GOP, we need a Mitch Brown.

Use the first on mids.
Throw opportunities to second tier and recycled players in our situation.
Would love Slong on the list, should have grabbed him midseason

I would have been more surprised if Clav had got another year.

Looking at the In's and Out's so far, we dont have that many spots to fill so far if we presume that we are taking at least 3 players in the draft (Pick 9, Windhager, Owens).

Since Sharman's mid season spot was opened up from someone going on the LTI list, he takes the spot of someone who was delisted heading into next year. It's also not clear whether Max Heath was picked up with an empty list left over from the Rookie draft or if it was created by Roberton's retirement. Alabakis was a Cat B so can only be filled by an equivalent rookie.

Outs and Potential In's so far
McKernan - Sharman
Carlisle - Pick 9
Frawley - NGA Owens
Dunstan - NGA Windhager
Clavarino -
Roberton?

Those still without contracts
Billings - 4 year deal expected to be finalised in the coming days
Ross - expected to sign 2 year deal
Ryder - expected to sign 1 year deal
Lonie
Kent
Joyce (R)
Hunter (R)

You would expect Joyce to stay if Clav is gone, and one of Lonie or Kent to stay given they play the same position. Hunter's spot seems dependant on whether we bring in another ruck.

Skinner from Lions now playing in the SANFL

Might be on the bankers radar.. Talia as stop gap for 2 years would be okay aswell
Might be on a few clubs radar.

198 cm, 100kg's seems to be able top play forward and back.

Player focus
(August 2021)

Former Brisbane key position player Sam Skinner looks primed to earn another AFL opportunity. Continuing his strong vein of form with 22 disposals, 10 marks (two contested) and six rebound 50s for South Adelaide in their 13-point loss against Port Adelaide, Skinner has looked a new player since switching into defence.

This follows games with 12 marks (four contested) and 11 marks (four contested) in the two weeks prior, proving he can be a plug-and-play piece for AFL sides.

The 24-year-old has been a marvel; reading the ball in flight, attacking it aerially, converting one-on-one marking contests into intercept marks and spoiling high balls when out of position. Skinner displays the courage to play in front, and was duly rewarded with numerous intercept marks as a result. For a tall key position player, Skinner moves well, even at one point taking on and getting around the man on the mark.

Skinner's on-field leadership was also there to see, directing teammates to ensure South Adelaide were set up correctly defensively.

With some similarities to Sam Collins, Skinner will be looking to re-join the AFL ranks immediately after a year starring at state league level.

Like Collins, Skinner is a low flash key defender, but with similar competitiveness one-on-one and intercept marking capabilities. He could provide an immediate solution for an AFL club looking for someone to fill a key defence hole immediately.

Cheers for that :thumbsu:

Sounds like another mature KPD option along with Schloeng
