Interesting given we were talking to Chandler and had considered Dumont. It does make me think we could be looking at a 'mature age' player but I can't see we have enough spots on our list.

That's not the impression I gained from Reid's comments when asked specifically by one of the journalists/commentators re Dumont in one of those pressers he had yesterday unless I heard it wrong? Didn't seem too interested to me

Maybe depth.
I think it's more likely that they will be delisted and their spots used for upgrades. If the club is struggling to fill the cap spend, upgrading from the rookie list might help. If they don't upgrade, the club will be forced to do it next year.
ROC and Davis are not our futue sadly for them.

I could see ROC getting a one year deal, I think all of the 2019 draftees probably deserve an extra year to prove themselves.

If the issue is hitting the minimum cap spend then I’m sure ROC on a minimum contract, use 75 to upgrade Keays or Butts and then if we need to spend anymore we could hopefully bring some of Sloane, ROB, Laird etc money forward to 2022.

Davis however is probably unlikely, will be sad to see him go as he seems like a great guy and has a lot to offer off field but he’s been here for long enough for us to know he won’t be a part of our next premiership.

I wonder whether Davis could get an indigenous role at the club. I am pretty sure we were offering something like that to Shaun Burgoyne. He apparently is very popular and an excellent team mate and bought into the culture of the club.

If we don't get Hartlett he could also play for the SANFL team as our one former player.

Keays is 3rd in line for rookie upgrade - behind Butts & Strachan.

Adelaide could've had Blayne O'Laughlin. But the category B list is held by Borlase and Newchurch. I've seen enough of Borlase to put him straight on the senior list and then could've got O'Loughlin NGA.

Borlase similar to butts but more an intercepter than 1-1 like Butts. He'll make it!

Would still be nice to see Blayne on the list come December!

Can’t say I’ve paid that much attention to Constable, but I’d prefer if the club committed to investing in its draftees, that means giving them a decent chance to prove themselves, over recycling other clubs players.

Pure inside mid. We have this covered, but he may get a go elsewhere. Personally I prefer Constable (who'd be a decent pick up for Port IMO)

Bit similar to what we have isn't he, lacks versatility and rarely hits the scoreboard. Handy pick up for a team looking for a big bodied inside mid but maybe better placed down the road on that score. I'd look at Constable before him although he lacks pace he has the versatility to play forward or back, played forward quite a bit for Vic Metro at the Championships and did well switching between midfield and forward and played some decent footy down back for the Sandringham Dragons when not playing midfield.

Clubs trading their #1 pick is very rare.

We would need to offer crazy overs & imo that would do us more damage to our rebuild

If we are looking at a FA like Maynard and trading in players we may want to keep a the guys on the rookie list and upgrade them next year to minimize the picks required at next years draft.
Currently only 8 uncontracted players on main list.

I'd take/keep all bar Dumont before I'd use pick 75 and or 80.
