I find it hard to believe that Johnson won't be the first to go tomorrow.

That leaves North.

For me the best outcome would be Sonie and then Butler.

Ward, Sonsie and Butler would be an extremely good draft haul (its unlikely but a deep slider like a Taylor or McDonald at whatever our next pick is would be icing)

Cal was saying earlier this week that the second round is where the clubs will be more honest with each other as to who they want and will trade accordingly.

I can see us trading a future second to get one of the Tigers picks, because there's going to be some good players still there at 28.

Freo the real danger in regards to Johnson tomorrow . Maybe with Erasmus in their books they might slide to someone else like sonsie! But out of the options available I'd love one of MJ or the Sonz.

whatever is best of those available, im guessing Frem pounce on Matthew Johnson and North might go Jesse Motlop?, then the 2 Geelong picks between ours could be anyone? i just dont want Butler, Taylor, Howes or Draper

I know most aren’t a fan of having the draft over 2 nights but in this case with so many sliders I think it becomes a huge advantage for us because a) it lets us reassess who is left and who we can realistically get b) we can also field some calls on some ridiculous offers.

I’m not holding my breath but geez I’d love us to get Sonsie.

How about another 3? As much as I love Ward, if a club like Richmond were offering their pick 15, 2 picks in 20s, 30s good value.
It is across the board though, no one willing to trade out pick 10 for bunch of 20s when clearly it is pretty even. For example
you cannot say Ward is better than 3 of Johnson/Taylor/Draper/Butler/Knevitt/Roberts/Bazzo/Clarke. It needed to happen before trade night.
You saw across the board get rid of pick in 30s like Geelong for one pick in 20s. Bulldogs, Collingwood with their father son etc. Anyway, saying all that,
so happy, welcome aboard Ward, quite romantic really like last year, life long Hawk supporter, grand father played for club.
