Obviously they might know something we don’t, but I wouldn’t be taking Essendon over North. North have better young talent, and their administration are much more likely to stay the **** out of the way.

This appears to be within Essendon culture. Someone who isn't "Essendon" is given very little leeway or a chance, while someone who is "Essendon" is given every opportunity and excuse to remain as coach.

I can't see someone like James Hird being sacked if he was under the same conditions/performance as Rutten currently at Essendon.

My guess is Carracella will be given the job now.

If last year he got them the top 3 pick everyone was expecting/the list was deserving of talent wise then this season would be looked at as natural improvement and he could be getting an extension soon. Unlucky, getting punished for overperforming and making finals
