Geelong vs pies final should not be at the mcg.

No they aren't, you have exactly the same neutral away games as other Victorian teams.
What rubbish. Geelong playing in melburne aint neutral. our fans are always dramatically downed out by the opposition in melbourne. Even against teams with little supporters like north. Home fan support has been found to have a massive positive impact on results. It sways umpires and it helps motivate teams and reduce mental pressure. This always works against geelong in melbourne. And theres is also added travel factor as well. It may not be interstate travel but it aint nothing,

I'm sure if 50000 Adelaide fans wanted to attend we could squeeze them in, that ain't happening at KP
Nope. Collingwood get like 15 home games a year. Geelong 9. And now you get a home final that you dont deserve.
The AFL fixture/finals arrangements are setup such that the MCG tenants have a massive advantage each season.

MCG rightful place, you can't deny the extra 50,000 people from seeing this game that wouldn't see it at KP.

KP not a great look right now as a building site and reduced capacity.

Fairness? Talk to me when you get dragged to Launceston, Cairns and Canberra year to year Cats fans!!

Where did I say I support the thread?

Yeah I’d love us to play finals at home and believe we’ve earned the right to do it but it’s not happening so who gives a f*** just play it where they play it and prepare and play as best you can.

The default attitude of every second fan is to find a reason to blame someone else or some other circumstance for something that’s gone wrong or could go wrong. There’s nothing wrong with pointing out ‘well we were away so that didn’t help’ or ‘so and so was suspended so who knows what might have happened’ but f***ing hell the volume of people who rather than just look at the scoreboard and establish ‘well these guys played better than these guys’ would rather piss and moan about home ground advantage or ground dimensions or travel or umpire bias or rule changes or - as we are seeing now - country lifestyles or COLA or academies or the father son system or rigged draws etc etc etc is simply f***ing pathetic
When the AFL talk about fairness and equality then it comes right into play. No other team bar maybe Suns train on their home ground. It wouldn't be that bad if Dogs got a game or two at Whitten oval or Hawks at Waverley but Geelong get 9 games at GMHBA stadium and if you can't see that as an advantage them maybe take off your rose tinted glasses.
But this thread isn't about Geelongs advantage, it's about having to play at the MCG. I personally would love my team (Saints) to play more games at the MCG, prepare for the finals by playing where majority of games are held.

Stiff shit. We train where we arrange to train.
If other clubs don’t like it, train at facilities that match their home ground.

But you can deny the team that finished first from having a large quantity of the Geelong supporter base who attend all GMHBA home games from attending.

No-one seems to like the fact that we have our own home ground but it doesn't change the fact that we do. We finished first, it should be our home game.

There is a article in this thread where Hocking said he and the board at Geelong disagrees with you.

Geelong played in Canberra and Hobart this year.

Where does it say that, or did you just make it up.

Or did someone speak about dimensions so you just think that's all they meant?
Every second Geelong thread is replete with people moaning about the shape and dimensions of our playing surface. That’s what people moan about and that’s what every second person tries to attribute our record to. I’m yet to hear anyone whinge about us training in front of the Reg Hickey stand and getting an advantage from that.

What do you want us to do mate, cancel the arrangement so other clubs have one less thing to moan about?

There’s plenty of NRL clubs who train on their playing ground and it doesn’t seem to bother the ones that don’t - which suggests that the stadium itself is no issue for them as all ground dimensions are the same.

So it’s simple. If teams want to get the benefit we get of training on the playing surface, make a training ground that matches the dimensions of their home ground

Never mind mate, I don't care enough to keep arguing.

If your crew hate the MCG enough, email the AFL and threaten to boycott or something, they will soon find out how much the AFL care.

You’re literally talking to someone who is happy for us to play at the mcg and has repeated that sentiment numerous times in this thread

Richmond had eight consecutive games at the MCG prior to the finals in 2019; Geelong get nine home games per year.
Wrong.

The Tiggers didnt have 8 games in a row.

By chance where do you expect these games to be played?

Melb v Rich
Coll v Rich
Rich v Carl
Haw v Rich

Do you think Rich have any advantage in them?
