Heath is yet to put together a string of good games in the VFL. If we are an injury away from him featuring, our options are grim and need added too.
As I said before, you could say the same thing about basically every other club out there. If you're going to recruit a depth option then there has to be a view to making them a starting 22 player at one point. The last thing I'd want to do is recruit a guy as a backup who won't develop but just extend his career. We're better off taking a key forward in the draft than going after Schache or Weideman.

These 'back-up' players have shown more at AFL level than our current options.

They could easily be best 22 based on who we have on our list.

Honestly though. AFL players are rich and home gyms aren’t really that expensive. Why did they not all come out of lockdowns looking like absolute super heroes?

All we saw was the players making do with beg borrowed and stolen pieces of equipment from the club, trying to work out using one skipping rope and a barbell with no plates.

I’m broke as s**t and I had better equipment to work with over lockdown than these elite athletes.

Windy and Owens were 17 year old draftees and bought home gyms to train over lockdown. Owens said that’s all he did, workout. Windy trained so much his back broke.

That was last year.
I just got footage of Hunter training in Russia , ( its winter there now ). Its contrasted to how the weaklings at cashed up Collingwood do it.

You make it sound like our forward options are Spencer White and TDL. We've got King and Membrey who would find a spot on any list easily and you've got Higgins who was on track for AA40 at least, before his concussions. You just need a few more accessory pieces around those 3 and you're sorted.

“He’s certainly someone we’ve got interest in, he’s also had a bit of a bad run the last couple of years (with injuries), he’s been quite unlucky. We think he’s an absolute talent who could really help us, we got the feeling he might be gettable and we felt the door was ajar there and maybe that’s closed now,” Rawlings explained.

North supporters…” second round pick”

I took Rawlings comments as there’s bugger all chance of Hunter Clark moving

Gee... can't imagine what could have possibly happened which has slammed an ajar door shut...

Probably because the AFL located them to holiday camps in Queensland. And gym gear got out of stock quite quickly…

Not really

We need to fix our on field performances to be an attractive club to the best players.

It seems like we're making good moves off field... even though ratten is still there

I think Long is a big loss, but I'd rather us not make changes for the sake of making changes.

Our biggest improvement will come from improved coaching.

According to what? Draft points?

No club would trade pick 3 for 9 and 25
Yeh its a draft points calculator.

I dont love the caluclator but it helps for stuff like this to see what the equivalent value is.

Writing down "3 for Clark and 9" doesnt sound that bad but when you do that calculator its a pretty average deal.

Funny David King (who i generally think is a muppet) noted that North has traded two #1 picks (this years and JHF) for picks 2 and 3 effectively.

I didnt even think of it that way (probably cause im not convinced JHF will be that good) AND 2 and 3 can be used on some chargers teammates to hopefully keep them from wanting to leave but in isolation that doesnt look amazing.

I mean GWS said Bedford is "a young and exciting player with a lot of potential" and they ended up paying pick 44 for him. Not much substance behind what clubs say at this time of year.
