Cal has definitely bumped Ginners up his order and cooled massively on Hewitt. Unsure if that's the general consensus, though.
Would have been an interesting interview with Hewitt. Asking about his footy this year and why his game against Vic Metro was so strong and some of this other games really average.

If he had done a Warlaw and had done his hammy after that Vic Metro game he’s probably top 5 in the draft such is the difference between that game and some others

He (Hewett) had temporary asthma ( yes that's a thing ) after covid .

Pick they get for Lobb, NM 2nd rounder, Something to do with Meek etc etc

Plenty of options really.

More a case of why I would think?

Mundy replacement? But I would have thought giving more chances to Johnson and Erasmus would be better for them

29 years old, Freo are topping up for a flag tilt by adding him

GWS pick 18 or 19. Or both.

Pick 20 and F2nd for 18 and 19.

Ports preferably.

Definitely want another pick at that range. There are 5 WA boys I would like to see at the Eagles from this draft, since we are allegedly going all Sandgroper, so we need another pick somehow. Work some magic ROB + Vossy.
The 5 I want are, Gibney, Hewett, Jones, Ed Allen, Smith.
Love the Gunslinger, but don't see the need for him at this stage, even though I don't think much of our Harry Edwards.

He’d be an odd pick up. You’d wonder how long he’ll go into his 30s with his injury history.

Oh well, not for us either way.

Hewett is all signed and sealed with the Eagles

He's been eyed up by the eagles for sometime, been told to play within him self and SD have been playing him out of position in the league

Need to find a suitable trade for 18 or 19 from GWS with out 26)

And end up with the Poo, Hewett, DJ & Allen (neither of these 2 will make it to 26)

FWIW - sharing my run sheet on future picks

Freo, Pies, Cats and Port investing in the now.

What a surprise - Suns banking points (and yes this year they have a reason to but old habits ......)

Melbourne from a futures perspective are looking bloody strong.

Curious as to what in that interview you’ve taken umbrage with

Clearly we’re prioritising the draft starting last year and continuing through this year and next

The club also rates the top 12-15 of this years draft as fairly even so wanted to secure 2 picks in that group rather than 1 as part of a long term plan. It’s not like we split pick 2 on a whim

Cal is not a big on assessing talent - he is big on listening to recruiters.

Therefore is he is cooling on Hewett, then there is less interest in him.

I suspect either St Kilda or Carlton are interested in Ginbey. Not in the know, just postulating.

Saints and Carlton are both interested in Norths pick 3 to get Wardlaw, I would not be shocked if Saints offer this years and next years first rounder to North to get it.

What if North do that trade then just take Wardlaw with pick 2?

Trading 40 for F3 better be worth it (deeper draft etc).
If we hypothetically hold picks 4, 22, 30 (Port), 40 & 48 (Port), we may not even use the Port F3 depending on list spots.
But should have plenty to clear out along with Hurn & Shuey retirements.
Next year one of GWS or GC are in a similar position to Brisbane this year with several young, good academy kids coming through.

Pick 30, 40 and 48 is equivalent to pick 11 points wise, so could be aiming to package up to move into the teens. Pick ~15 for example would be great, and give them the points boost they were after.

Hell, even 40 and 48 on their own are equal to pick 26. So imagine trading those two for pick 29 for example. Would hold 4, 22, 29 and 30. Would be happy with that.

I’ll spew if Fremantle trade Lobb for pick 11, one pick before us.
You would think at tops it would be a late first so Dunkley compensation. (Brisbane future 1st )

If your the dogs you would like it to be pick 30

If it’s pick 11 something would have to go back you would think with Lobb.

It’ll be pick 21 imo
