Yeah he is going well, I wonder if he's put on much size? Is listed as 194cm 78Kg's.
Also aware it is a small sample size but his average of 5.2 marks per game would have put him fifth for average marks per yr for us. I'm big on 190cm plus guys being marking targets. Yeah realise his contested marks are down, but at 78Kg's that is hardly surprising.
So finding the ball isn't an issue.

I think he's a good chance of being in our best side in time, like half of them I suppose.

Oh apparently Bonars is looking the best he has and Spicer is near cooked. According to old mate, he has been wrong before though.

Really rate Bonars 188cm 87kg's is quick and strong, Probably my most frustrating player on our list. I'd love to see this with ALL deserving a game of course.

Bonars McKay McDonald
Corr Logue Dawson

That has the makings of a solid backline. And has some experience to it.

Also then we've Hall, Drury, Perez, Young, Archer and Bergman.

A few of those I feel will spend a fair bit of the year in the VFL cutting their teeth so to speak.

Coming off a 2 win season (9 in the last 3 seasons), there really should be no more than 10 blokes who are cemented into the team. There’s a spot there for anyone who can get their shit together.

I was confident but he really does lack awareness and doesn't anticipate the play well enough - a must if you're playing on crafty forwards. He has all the tools but not the game smarts. His opponents were able to get seperation from him just by reading the play quicker than him and taking off a split second sooner...not by a clever piece of play.

Opposition teams were exploiting it too (leaving space in front of them for bonar's opponent to lead up into). Looked like a training drill and s**t you learn in under 16s (turning into your opponent, pushing off the chest to put them on the back foot and then take off on the lead...Bonar was getting worked by that...
:drunk:

He was our best defender on the lead in 2021 (before injury) and was quite good early 2022 but his 2nd half of the year was poor. He is not agile enough for the small crafty forwards but is built for leading forwards such as Gunston, Zurhaar etc and has shown he can at least compete against bigger opponents (such as Harry).

Having said that, he is not elite and and without a stronger attacking game there are probably better options.

Also, with 3 big KP defenders now, we can only have 1 medium sized defender at most.

Any reports from the praccy match?

Very quiet thus far in terms of actual training notes haha

Versus is Latin. In the context your using verse it it is neither a verb or preposition. It has no relation to versus.
Versus is a preposition in latin.

"To verse" is a verb in English because people use it as one, inflected with verb forms, and understand what each other mean when they say it, thus fulfilling the function of language to communicate. It is derived from misreading the abbreviation "vs" as "verses", and absolutely, etymologically, has a relation to "versus".

It's not a verb I personally use because I'm a curmudgeon and it's like fingernails on a blackboard to my ear, but it is nonetheless well established as a verb in some common varieties and dialects of English.

If we could guarantee the ball carrier was pressured. kicking the ball in that backline would be a menace to oppositions.

Dawson has been listed as both 194cm and 196cm. Regardless, I'd confidently wager he wasn't 78kg when he was drafted:

Guesstimate: 85-87kg

Come to this thread for the photos showcasing Sheezel’s incredibly fast muscular development, and stick around for the protracted etymological debates about Latin prepositions.
I did study the Latin when at Mazenod.

Salve pater, Hoc filum non vigilat. Sic potes omnia irrumabo off.

Ok zoomer.

my friends were saying it in the 70s (obviously I didn’t because i was a premature curmudgeon even at primary school). Kids today think they invented all the young people stuff
Its been like that for ... like 100 years.

S'cool tho.

Listed at 196/89 on club website. Could not possibly be 78.

At least 3000.

You and I both know it was our generation that invented all the good stuff tho.

Like the 1977 pre-season as recounted in "The Coach" setting the tone for all football preseasons to come.

A well presented argument with some merit. I bow to your superior knowledge.
