Latest patch on PS5 is just as bad as the initial release, but a different kind of bad. Handballing feels worse than the patch before and my players no longer feel like handballing out of tackles and get pinged HTB 90% of the time. Half of the time on defense my players just stop moving and stand still as if the opposition has taken a mark.
I’ve had those issues before most recent patch and was hoping they’d be fixed guess I won’t be rushing to play it anytime soon then

With all the obvious negatives currently in the game, I must give a shout out to the artists responsible for the stadiums.
Many of them are more than comparable to any of the big name sports games.
They absolutely stand up to anything. A little harder to compare to indoor sports like nba2k and nhl but in my opinion are better than Madden, better than pes/efootball and right up there with fifa. It’s more the crowd members of the triple A sports titles that might tip the scales in their favour. The actual architecture in this game is A+. The MCG here also appears to be much better than cricket 22 version.

They really need to fix when you receive a hand all the player just stops and then gets run down it’s not fluid at all, there is no point in hand balling it atm,

Also interchange is still broken when your the away team on pc

while it sounds like everyone is having a different experience currently, from what I played last night with the movement patch updated, that game play feels better than the submission build in terms of having more control over where players run to etc.

Still lots of things missing that need to come back in to back it more complete though, wind, spoiling, removed tackle teleport etc.

Fair enough, hope my assumptions were wrong then and sounds like that may be the case.

Re these bits - I definitely see more pros now overall, but the game is still very broken. Wayyyy too many interceptions, trying to kick it 50m and have the man on the mark or a guy 5m away not only get in the way but take the ball cleanly and run off. The backwards 50m handball bug, random long kick bug, kickouts bug (if you are looking at the back flank and press X on Xbox to normal kick it kicks a deliberate behind, happens to me every time). AI is very broken still, probably due to lack of tactics but players free all inside 50. Goal kicking still broken for both teams, tackling and player movement still not good enough.

As others have said ad nauseum, it feels like you're fighting the game and the controls more than not, not playing a fun challenging game and being rewarded for good skill. I don't want to non-constructively whinge, but I don't think anyone can sit there and say the game is fun to play. It's definitely better than it was on Thursday, but that's not a high bar.

For my own sanity I had to go back and watch some of my vod from last night to make sure I still felt it was playing well when re watching. , clicked randomly and found this bit of play with a long handball to a player, and a kick inside 50.

Hmm so from the comments in here, am I right it seems after the latest patch that it's mostly PS4 owners experiencing constant crashes, not so much the PS5 version?
Mine crashes every time I try to play a game on Management mode. Can simulate through entire season, just can't play a damn game

In the process of getting a PS store refund, anyone had any experience with a PS store refund? been sent troubleshooting steps before they can process it and im unsure if its something i need to follow and/or they track?
My first refund request was rejected through Steam(waiting on the second....), and Steam are usually fairly good with refunds.
Can't see Sony letting you refund.

BA should be personally reaching out and offering / working with companies to issue refunds for those that want them.

i think this game is more button specific, so instead of just running, maybe you need to sprint away from the tackling player, past games held your hand a bit more.

Alright now I gotta know why the **** the game has decided my goal kicks (pressing circle) are now meant to be small kicks to close options. Surely the fact I’m pressing the goal kick button should override pressing R2 which is the sprint button. What the ****.

You cannot import a file into a Console build, it's considered too high a risk vulnerability for jailbreak/hacking. You can create from scratch on Console, or download from someone that has uploaded from Steam.

Will we be able to great custom guernseys and use them on licensed teams???

Ahh I guess that's why Microsoft released Redfall its own 1st party game last Tuesday with just as many issues ..

🥱

As many issues? Believe me I’ve played both and AFL 23 is much worse on the performance front. Redfall is just a bad game overall that is never going to be good no matter what they do, mainly due to the story and overall design but there are few of any major performance issues like crashes. Compare that to AFL 23 and every second person is complaining about crashes, it comes up almost on every page of this thread.

There is nothing other than baseless rumours to suggest that the Xbox delay is due to a shipping issue, however BA have experienced rejection from Microsoft in the past (see initial patches for Cricket 22), so that’s why the QA theory keeps popping up.

Video shows off the teleporting bug too. As the Richmond player goes back to take the mark, he teleports from in front to behind his opponent.

EDIT: Not sure if the teleporting player is the one who takes the mark in the end, but you'll be able to see what I mean.

I copped two from three games on ps5 this morning

If you have downloaded the game then it is unlikely - their refund policy needs to change.

Surely refusing to refund is breaking Australian law?

Valve had their arse handed to them by the ACCC over this:

On 23 December 2016 the Federal Court ordered Valve Corporation (Valve) to pay penalties totalling $3 million for breaching the Australian Consumer Law. Valve is one of the world’s largest online game retailers and operates the Steam game distribution platform.

In March 2016, the Court found that Valve had breached the Australian Consumer Law by making false or misleading representations to consumers in relation to its online gaming platform, Steam.

The Court held that the terms and conditions in the Steam subscriber agreements, and Steam’s refund policies, included false or misleading representations about consumers’ rights to obtain a refund for games if they were not of acceptable quality.

Dunno if I am an idiot but is there a way to basically throw it on the boot at goal quickly? Like a clearance kick. I constantly get run down or kick it a few metres as the guy a few posts above said.
No, it's ridiculous how many times I find a bit of space in a stoppage in my 50 and my player decides to run through an entire animation and be tackled instead of throwing the ****ing thing onto his boot.

According to ACCC: "You have the right to a repair, replacement or refund if your goods are faulty, unsafe, do not work or appear as they should."
Almost identical wording for services if that's what a digital download come under. Major faults being something that would stop a reasonable consumer from buying it, had they known about it beforehand.

Exactly, so you'd be 100% guaranteed a refund under Australian law. The game causes your console to crash ffs.

It's like JB telling people that you can't return opened games. Of course you can, telling people they can't is illegal.
