But no one coming back our way will be better footballers than McKay or Thomas. GuaranteedI'm not happy to offload them but I'm willing to accept that if its true that they don't want to be here then you need to make the best move that you can.

I don't think that you can guarantee that. If we got pick 2 or 3 for McKay then that might not be the case, long term or short term. But no one coming back our way will be better footballers than McKay or Thomas. Guaranteed

To prove that McKay was a better defender from a list of the top defenders in the league. You called out that he had more intercept marks and less turn overs. But that’s not what makes May a better defender nor does it take into consideration the role he plays in the Melb backline. You’re such a dunderhead. Why did I pull out the stats of May?
As many as 15?I don’t get why some are happy to off load McKay or Thomas. At this stage we have about 15 good players out of 40. 2 of the better players are McKay and Thomas. We should be desperate to keep them both
If you're talking about finding a KPD kid who turns out to be better than him, I disagree. I just feel like the hit rate for KPPs taken in the top 10 of drafts is way lower than it should beWith due respect to Buckets, I'd back in our football department and recruiters to be able to find a kid at pick 3 who is an improvement.
I’ve been told that we haven’t really engaged much with his management. This goes the other way too, with his management not really proactively engaging with us.
Sydney & Essendon are the two front runners. But I’ve heard that two other Melbourne based clubs have the salary cap space and are interested. Richmond & Hawks…
18 by my reckoning. Excluding Goldy, Shiels , Greenwood. As many as 15?
We are in a great spot having pick 2 behind a Western Australian team with pick 1 & another ‘generational talent’ from Victoria who everyone wants. Then we take Reid with #2 or trade the pick for 2-3 first rounders and take O'Sullivan with one of them.
Yeah and “win” will be us getting shafted. We won’t get their first pick, won’t happen. It’ll take up all Brady’s time and we will be “satisfied” with a second rounder. Are we talking about the same bloke that has overseen a list that hasn’t won a final in 20 odd years? With that record, let him ‘win’.
It will all work out in the end. PatienceYeah and “win” will be us getting shafted. We won’t get their first pick, won’t happen. It’ll take up all Brady’s time and we will be “satisfied” with a second rounder.
****ing spot on post and this alone is enough to keep him and to pay 'overs' to do so if needed. **** it used to be shocking watching Brown take a hold of us and kick 6 whenever we played the lions. Or Hawkins kicking bags.Agree. I feel some of the negative assessment of McKay’s talent and form on here is to ‘soften’ the psychological blow and protect egos if he leaves. We would be mad to let him go if we can keep him. Aside from Robbie Tarrant and Mick Martyn, McKay is the only key defender we have had on our books who can handle the ‘gorillas’ in 40 years! They’re just not easy to find, so unless we have an equivalent lined up from another club - we should be doing everything to keep him. If he wants to go - then we play as hard as possible to get the best deal for us.

Are west coast not the club that holds all the chips with regards to trading out so a Victorian club can get Reid?We are in a great spot having pick 2 behind a Western Australian team with pick 1 & another ‘generational talent’ from Victoria who everyone wants.
Are we arguably in a better spot like this than we are if we were last/had pick 1?
Depends how much they want Curtin as we have pick 2.Are west coast not the club that holds all the chips with regards to trading out so a Victorian club can get Reid?
Not if they want Curtin & we have picks 2 & 3.Are west coast not the club that holds all the chips with regards to trading out so a Victorian club can get Reid?
Say if wce have pick 4 - they’ll get curtin to say he wants to stay in waNot if they want Curtin & we have picks 2 & 3.
Wont worry Clarko.Say if wce have pick 4 - they’ll get curtin to say he wants to stay in wa
I wouldnt back our recruiters to find a bucket of sand in the sahara desert. With due respect to Buckets, I'd back in our football department and recruiters to be able to find a kid at pick 3 who is an improvement.
If we have 2 and 3 we simply take curtain and watson,Not if they want Curtin & we have picks 2 & 3.
Curtin has looked good forward. If we have 2 and 3 we simply take curtain and watson,
From there with watson, sheeza and sausage we should finally be able to firm up our fwd lines goal potency outside of talls.
Barrass staying. You would have to think becomes Sydney vs Essendon Vs potentially Hawthorn bidding war. Good for us.
The ute is cool as ****!Imagine saying that seriously to a camera and still trying to look cool.
