Movie What's the last movie you saw? (7)

Two for the money: with Matthew McConaughey and Al Pacino. About sports betting. For some reason I've seen it about 10 times. I must like it but this last time it's not doing it for me. I'd say it's a solid 6.5/10.
Anyone else seen it, what do you think

Heart of Stone (2023)

It's basically Mission Impossible with Gal Gadot playing a combination of the Tom Cruise and Ving Rhames characters.

There's a team of MI6 secret agents, who have been infiltrated by a secret secret agency the Charter, who gets infiltrated by a secret secret secret agency run by a former MI6 agent who somehow isn't recognised. There's a lot of hacking superpowers and impossible remote viewing. Exposition by cheesy dialog and some pretty terrible acting. Action scenes in about eight exotic locations. If you switch your brain off it's good fun.

I know it’s August but does anyone have a list of best flicks from the year they have seen?

At a guess, I watch a movie at the cinema every fortnight on average and can't remember much from 2023. Creed III, Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning 1, and John Wick 4 were the standouts.

I gave Gray Man 7/10. Maybe it's a 6, I will have to rewatch. The Russos can deliver action movies where the plot hangs together.

I gave Barbie my first ever 1/10. I gave Oppenheimer 6/10, my bad.

I get the sentiment but the action and set pieces for MI and the tactile filming locations just make it so so much better.

Dead Reckoning is ****ing great though.
