Great stuff Eddie.

It's the forward line for mine for Eddie - a combination of deep forward with Larkey - some really good 1-2 punch there - the most accurate kicking combo in AFL history!

But I also see him spending some time as a high forward as well - using that mobility and strong marking to give us an outlet on the Wing a la Craig Sholl for those who remember that legend of the 90's.

Forward line will be a lot better next year if Eddie can continue his late season form - you can see the pieces starting to come together now.

Any other hidden gems in the oft-overlooked Western Jets. We’ve got a couple of rippers in Ford and Curtis.

Why are the Jets players overlooked? It’s been mentioned on here a few times, and it seems like the majority of young players come from Sandringham or oakleigh?

As a local resident - got a reputation for being a lower socioeconomic area with a lower standard of local footy and it's harder to get a gauge on kids' personal traits because most of the connected AFL peeps are out east.

Ok, interesting isn’t it. Almost seems a bit untapped as a result.

In some ways yes, particularly with later picks IMO.

With the guys from the rich areas of town with private school backgrounds it's generally a lot easier for recruiters to know how they'll adapt to a full on professional environment and recruiters are by their nature very risk averse.

we should absolutely make the jets a focus.

Players through there should align to our cultural heritage well.

Because Gil gentrified the AFL.

In the 90s and 00s alot of media sooks didn't like that AFL players were sometimes bogans and pushed to change all that. Now the APS schools dominate the sport. How many private school kids from the most elite schools do we have in our side?

Its posh bastards not liking the western suburbs.

Yarraville Eagles have always gone alright though. Mick Barlow, Andrejis Everett and Trav Varcoe floated through the Div 1 in recent times
