Mod notice after Mr Bob did a lot of annoying work in moving days of posts out of here. As we are heading into offseason, this thread is for 2023 list management only. Getting upset on previous trades can be taken to the vent thread. Lets keep this thread on track in the part of the year it's actually relevant

Yeah there is a definite tone to our wording around him.

Wonder if we have the nads to send him to the PSD if required.
I hope so…
Let’s see how good a manager Colin Young t his clients then.
He was sweating bullets in ‘Show me the money’ with Bobby Hill and Lobb…
Let the games begin!!!

I know others have questioned why we are into Sharp, but given our lack of high picks he has to be our number one target this trade period. First of all up until about 6-7 weeks ago Henry was also struggling to get a game with a low club. Guys like Ed Langdon spent his first 3 years mainly running around in the WAFL before establishing himself in his fourth year (again at a club on the bottom end of the table) so I think judging guys by what they have achieved in the first 2-3 years is dangerous. Sharp in his draft year (which was super strong) was top 10 in the 20m sprint and the 2km time trail smashing guys like Rowell, Will Day, Lachie Ash, Serong, Henry, Anderson in both. So he is quicker than Henry and has a bigger tank. Also I’m pretty sure he was an U18 AA as a bottom ager (so got AA twice). We have plenty of inside mids and we need a pure athletic winger who can run up and down the ground to help the backs and also kick some goals. Also at 187cm Sharp is a good size to float in and help out the backs. As absolute must have in my eyes…

Without being too cynical, without any actual evidence of him playing in the firsts, all this means is that he has the ability take over Tommy Sheridan's mantle for training the house down.

Sharp would have to be like a Jordan Clark to do that. Either Gold coast have a gem they have been mismanaging or we are screwed.

My instinct with Gold Coast is all the first round talent they have is offensively minded because they have all been stars as juniors and never needed to defend.

Sharp isnt as good offensively as those a graders, but also can't defend so got left out for players more willing to cover for the likes of rowell and anderson etc.

I feel like Sharp will have no problem being as effective as Henry and we end up with more draft capital.

Don't forget that gc thought he was good enough to not accept our offer last year so they rated him to a point.

Won’t get sharp over according to the west. Something to do with list spots.
Doesn't make sense. Just need to throw a couple of guys on the rookie list to make room. And you'd imagine Willo and Colyer have played their last games. You could put Stanly and Reidy on the Rookie list (promote Banners and Treacy), drop Willo and Colyer, and make room for him.
How many guys are leaving this year? Henry, Benning, Colyer, Wilson. It won't be a huge turnover that's for sure. Means we can probably only pick 3 in the draft if we get Sharp.

I thought players choosing Chelsea over Liverpool was doing my head in! Now players are choosing the Evils over us? I need to log off everything until the end of the year.

Delist: Benning, Colyer, Wilson
Trade out: Henry
Corbett/Tabs rookied?

Plenty of room.

Maybe not rookied, but this is something I think we're probably overlooking in regards to list spots.

Tabs has been firmly overtaken by Amiss, Treacy and Jackson. Wouldn't surprise me if he's looking around/been encouraged to explore his options.

Essendon ain't letting him kick 7 on them again.

Would free up a list spot but Tabs has the trade value of a pack of salt and vinegar chips. Also, if Hammer is good depth for the backline, isn't Tabs decent depth for the forward line?

Why do you want to get rid of Tabs? He's been over taken but he's still contracted backup who we can sit in the two's but provide AFL output with injury or drop of form.

Otherwise we end up needing to recruiting another Corbet type who probably won't be very good and if injury occurs on the road to finals, it could be very costly.
