Ridiculous.
If you're after equity fairness and transparency then I'm afraid you're following the wrong sport.

We can't change it so let's see what Mackie and Wells can do to stay ahead of the handicapper. It's getting harder though, particularly when you look at the draft hand dealt to Kangas. Rewarding mediocrity is one thing - but rewarding sustained periods of stupidity and mismanagement is on another level.

Ridiculous.
ITs like the GWS start up draft.

Eveny odd numbered pick in the tOp 20 or whatever they had.

Absurd reward for being shit - and being shit bc of the decisions THEIR CLUB AND BOARD made.

FFS the ultimate failing upwards.

GO Catters

And they get another 2 next year as well.

It's legitimately uncanny just how alike their two supporter bases are. At least Richmond have the success to back it up now. North nearly got kicked out of the comp recently, and just got handed three years of PP's - what the hell are they so cocky about?
It's frustrating for me in particular.

I grew up around the area, and even played Auskick at Arden St. Had a few school excursions touring the Norf facilities and alike.

Always had a soft spot for them as a result, and back then they had at least earned their idea of 'doing it the hard way' and that shinboner spirit they go on about.

But after growing up and seeing more of what their supporters are like, it's just so reminiscent Richmond. A weird unearned arrogance mixed with a bitterness for anything that's not involving them.

The whole thing just looks like an unhealthy way to live.

I’m now starting to come around to taking 15, 18, 23 for our pick 8

Let’s them go to the draft with 2,3,8,21

Again, anything like that won't happen until draft night. I'd be super-pissed though if they were able to get Sanders with our Pick 8 - by utilising all their PP collateral to grab him.

Don't see it happening, but stranger things have happened. Look at what Melbourne just gave up to move from 14 > 11 - 27, 35 and a Future 1st. I'd be wanting much more than that for them to move up 8 spots.

They also won't be the only club gunning for that pick. It's why Mack has probably used the 'it's a comfortable position for us' line, as we can either get a gun kid, or have a bidding war for that pick where that kid is available, and back ourselves to pick the eyes out of it with the picks we get in return.

Quite a lot of their supporters jumped on in the 90's so it's to be expected.
It's funny though really. They were a good team, and probably should have won one more...but not exactly bandwagon level.

In terms of what they actually achieved, they weren't far off from Geelong of 2012-22, and we've all seen the complaints from our own supporters on that era.

Wouldn't it be 25? If we get 23 off Port for Sav, you'd think it's 8 for 15, 18 & 25?

Would give us 15, 18, 23, & 25, which I could live with. Hopefully get 4 pretty good players out of that.

Suits Norf too, they don't need the quantity of youth anymore, they need the real topliners.

If Sanders is gone on draft night I'd pull the trigger. If he's there, stuff 'em.

Let's not get too high-and-mighty around here.

If we were in the same position as North, we'd absolutely be brandishing the begging bowl to the AFL and holding out for as great a deal of draft picks as we could get.

Don't pretend we wouldn't.

But we aren’t.

Maybe so, but I'd hope that we wouldn't be telling other clubs how good we are and how they're just 'jealous' of our club when we're doing it.

Take the Eagles board for example, in a similar position currently, but have much more to be self righteous about than Norf. They're a true powerhouse club, on and off the field.

There's a thread on their board asking whether they'll ever win back-to-back flags, and many of the responses are posts saying 'I'd settle for back-to-back wins at this point' and things along those lines.

They have a much better grasp on reality from what I've seen, and God forbid we're ever in that position, I'd hope we'd be similar.

Taylor Adams for 33 done.

Swans cleaning up.

Wish we’d do something…. anything?

What annoys me most about all the NM picks is that they have Clarko as coach who will likely be the recipient of labels like coaching genius, rather than all accepting that he has been gifted a team of high draft picks that we have not seen since days of GWS and GC
