You’re not wrong, but I don’t think it matters.I hear you, it is transactional but damage can be done, agree to disagree. Player managers have behaved favourably towards Geelong because they have been easy to deal with both in terms of not pushing for more cash or supporting players in coming to Geelong.
Self interested. Not like Ottens at all.Agreed, Jenkins doesn’t seem like someone I’d want to have an influence on other people.

Finally Kingy with some Cats luv.David King reckons Port getting Rata will change them into genuine premiership contenders and that pick 24 isn't enough. Port need to change their back 6 otherwise nothing changes and won't win a flag, so need to get it done, even if it means they pay overs.
Very true.Funny how Crows forced a trade for PFD and got good returns for it. Crows were applauded for standing tall.
GWS forces trade for Jezza - gets a Giant bounty - they get applauded for standing tall.
GFC makes WC pay for Kelly and we are pricks.
GFC hold on to Sav for more than 24 - pricks!
Guess its in the eye of the beholder.
IMO - 24 with some sugar would be nice but realistically its gonna be 24 for Sav.

An overwhelming 18 No... and 0 yes.. I might have to like it to give it at least 1 likeJust react to this message so you don't have to reply to it...
Would people trade our pick 8 for North Melbourne pick 15 & 17
for yes ( like )
for No ( disagree )

Also Neale, the big furph dog and mid season draft.Surely we aren't that dumb. Conway missed most of the season injured. Stanley missed a lot of the season injured. Blicavs missed a lot of the season injured. Cegler has retired and Esava is out the door.
So if Stanley and Conway get injured, we have Blicavs and SDK but having them ruck weakens the midfield and defense significantly.
I can't see us not getting a ruck.
You would hope we get someone... id be happy with Hayeseven as a backup as we noleed someoneIt doesn’t sound like we’ve made a lot of inquires on rucks. There are a couple around Port that might be available but they’re really in Ceglar category.
It doesn’t sound like Soldo will get to Port, I’d be interested in asking if he wanted to come across. He’s at a good age to add to our existing rucks and has looked at moving last year and this year. But is contracted so tigers may not be keen to let him go.
Really... surely we need backup. Where he say this?Pretty sure Mackie said we aren't looking to bring in any rucks and just going with what we've got.
Interesting interview with Trent Bianca I heard a replay of just before
He mentioned clubs he’s keen on and his responses was Geelong and the bulldogs
Sees himself as a pure wingman
Yet somehow you managed to do itMy joke was that their performances would accrue to next year when they will get paid out in silverware....
I dunno it's hard to make accounting funny

Very true.
And those rfa situations a player really should have earned the right to move to the club of their choice. In theory I think the same for Sav but the system is not that way . If he was a FA atm... the whole situation would probably be resolved. He would be UFA..and at his age and the offer... a good chance of Band2 so end of r1.
Everyone else is just sick of Geelong Daz, you know that. We have outperformed every other team consistently for nearly 20 years and people will take any chance to pot us.Funny how Crows forced a trade for PFD and got good returns for it. Crows were applauded for standing tall.

Reality is we are easy to deal with, and are a destination club for a reason.
Teams are rightfully pissed off with the Bowes trade for pick 7 last year. But it doesn't really matter now, Gold Coast gave away about 1600 points last year but gained about 3000 trading down multiple times this year.Everyone else is just sick of Geelong Daz, you know that. We have to bring at least a first round pick back?Sounds like the likelihood of us trading pick 8 is high.
We have to bring at least a first round pick back?
The only way i see this happening is if our target is already gone by the time we get to our pick and i wouldn't be trading for anything less than 3 picks.
This draft is super light on great talent so picks outside top 10 are weak.
I'm warming to the idea of grabbing Wilson and picking up a F1.I think as long as we bring one in next year we are fine. That won't be an issue either way as we will be trading for at least one for either this or next year's draft.
I agree re talent. I don't want a scenario where we trade out 8 for 3 mid teen picks which could amount to nothing. We need elite talent so in this draft, unless Sanders is gone, I'd be putting all my eggs in the one basket. The exception to that perhaps being trading into a FF in the next draft. If we were to trade down a couple of spots if Sanders was gone to take Wilson PLUS get a FF that would be a good result I think.

Grab Stevens with pick 24 and hope Hastie lasts until our next pick.
That would be a decent trade/draft period.
Not in terms of trades, dodo still gets it done but possibly from a list management point of view. Geelong get the likes of Dangerfield and Cameron without paying top dollar, I know they both wanted to move back to Geelong but frustrated player managers can drive things harder, if you make their life easier they can look after you to a degree. You’re not wrong, but I don’t think it matters.
That concept of win/win in negotiation and game theory is often trumped by self interest (I want to keep my job, look great to the board) and ego.
adding to this - the job of list manager across 18 clubs isn’t a lifetime one - so the credit Wells has built with team A in 2015, has no bearing on his trade with team B in 2019; nor with his trade with Team A again in 2021, with a new list manager.
He gets recognised as a good guy who’s easy to deal with and that he makes it happen (at any cost) for opposition players to come to Geelong.
But.. Dodoro, whose has the diametrically opposite reputation to Wells also has the same outcome, but not at any cost.
So does it really matter?

I trust where I got the info about TDK and apparently he had a verbal agreement in place with Geelong to seek a trade
I knew 100% certain that Dangerfield was headed to Geelong. It was direct info from a prominent figure that used to work at the club but is elsewhere now.
I'd be happy with that scenario. Probably still erring to taking Sanders if he's there though. Dogs now reported to be after Watson which may open things up for us, particularly if North end up getting pick 1.
