Question to anyone..
A club has to spend 95% of their salary budget every year...
Let's say for example Geelong had put $1million a season a year for Bailey Smith and we miss out on him...
So we don't get any other one... so the question I ask. With that 1 million they had set away for Bailey Smith. For the next year will they divide that money up between the whole team as a small bonus?

You negotiate with a few already contracted players to play their wage early to put your team to the cap floor.

Look at the points upgrades so far in most trades, I.e Bulldogs pick 4 , then Gold Coast with 11.
I think a loading of 50% required, preferably
1500 +400 for about 3000 points.
I think 8 ,2024r2 for 15,17,18 would be considered by us.
Or trade with Essendon or St Kilda, Sydney.
I think 8,2024r3, for 12,Swans 2024r1 is a possibility.

If I was WCE I'd prefer 6,11,F1 over 6 and 8. Tough both are a little light for pick 1 for this particular draft.

15, 17 & 18 for mine.

We're just so rarely in this range where there is the opportunity to develop a highly touted youngster.

1 extra shot at a good player in that ~20 range doesn't excite me.

Any news on Ruckman Merry-go-round for this year? Haven't herd anyone of a Ruckman coming to our club yet. Was a few words on Lycett once if Port get Sweet.
But we definitely need a backup Ruckman

It doesn’t sound like we’ve made a lot of inquires on rucks. There are a couple around Port that might be available but they’re really in Ceglar category.
It doesn’t sound like Soldo will get to Port, I’d be interested in asking if he wanted to come across. He’s at a good age to add to our existing rucks and has looked at moving last year and this year. But is contracted so tigers may not be keen to let him go.

Hayes will be available as a dfa though cant see how he has any trade value.

They’ll have to keep him or Lycett to go with Sweet and the younger ruck they have.

Seems pretty simple, could be a smokescreen, but we'll take them at face value.

We'll keep the pick if Sanders is there, we'll trade it if he isn't.

Seems to be the view on BigFooty too. Is it possible that the GFC and our views finally align and everyone here is happy? Surely not!!

Thats what I was saying earlier.... although there was talk of them changing the rule ...so that a club could trade a Fr1 and a Fr4. Id prefer the Fr2 in and the Fr3 out, Odds are ..Port will probably be higher than us.

Surely we aren't that dumb. Conway missed most of the season injured. Stanley missed a lot of the season injured. Blicavs missed a lot of the season injured. Cegler has retired and Esava is out the door.

So if Stanley and Conway get injured, we have Blicavs and SDK but having them ruck weakens the midfield and defense significantly.

I can't see us not getting a ruck.

It looks ugly without seeing the names next to it. I think id push for something from 2024 as well.... but if its happening in draft then the deal would have to be prearranged... and that probably depends on who is available.

Which player is going to be worth more than 15 and 17 to North? If OSullivan is there ... I could see them having to dig deep into their pockets as it woudl suit their needs.
