Lol.Mich Cleary now saying port may trade 25 elsewhere to get other deals done
I'm in the minority... I actually think BZT has more value than Duursma.
Sure Duursma in his first season is way better... but that was a long time ago.
BZT is a very decent plug and play backman... He just can't be playing on monsters (cough cough Sav).
In saying that... I want Port to "win" that trade purely because the more assets they hold the better for us.
Lol.
Could be a a bit of BS though in the media via a Port leak just to put a bit of pressure on the Cats. I reckon Port went radio silent as a tactic, so Cats panic last minute.
If they get BZT on the cheap, and baulk at Esava trade they still have filled one hole in defence, and it might not be enough for them to win the flag, but it is an improvement.

They need Esava to restructure that defence to allow Aliir to play the play off running defender.. This draft is too risky to play it through the draft... They will pay up somehow.. The funny thing is apparently Geelong are the ones that is hard to deal with, but Port haven't got their trades done...
Deal within a deal. Hard to organise. The salary he will put on his own head. Cats ain’t paying that.
An early season game from Stevens in which he plays predominantly in defense. Its been suggested that his lack of foot speed will mean that Stevens will likely settle into a Shannon Hurn type of role at AFL level as a medium sized defender and playmaker as it will allow him the time and space to use his penetrating kick and excellent decision making to their maximum potential. This game shows what that might look like.
Sorry for the intrusion but if you do keep pick 8, there is a strong likelihood that Curtin will be available (as long as WC keep 1). That would be a massive win for you guys.

Can't see him being available tbh.Sorry for the intrusion but if you do keep pick 8, there is a strong likelihood that Curtin will be available (as long as WC keep 1). That would be a massive win for you guys.

Surprised 2E got the green light to play next year

It was known a month ago that he'd be going around again next year - doesn't mean he'll play 20 games though
Tuohy is one appears well loved & respected by those at the club, as well as being one who gives a lot of himself back to the club - when Rachel Kearns first signed with our AFLW team, Tuohy took it upon himself to help with her integration to the club and one-on-one training in adapting from the Gaelic game to AFL
He may not necessarily going into coaching after his playing, but could see him adding value in an ambassador or player liaison role - so maybe 2024 could be the start of a transition into that area
With the midfield needs of the Bulldogs, Melbourne and GWS picking before you I think the odds are pretty slim to be honest. I don't know about trading back considering the drop in quality it'd see for Geelong, so unless there was a future first involved it wouldn't make much sense from my POV.
ah, sure

Versatile draft prospect who models game on Dockers champion
Daniel Curtin grew up playing in the midfield but a growth spurt saw him transformed into an exciting utilitywww.afl.com.au
Freo will be a bit spewy ... the best WA that barracks for Freo .... and he will probably land elsewhere. Be perfect for us
Usually Cal Twomey does his mock draft weeks before the draft night.. his usually bang on the money on the 1st round ( top 10 )According to the draft poster pm bangers he thinks it is very unlikely sanders will be on the board come our pick as Melbourne GWS bulldogs are after a mid.
I've thought all along he was no chance to get through, talk Dees and Dogs dont need mids baffles me, sure they are loaded for ready made talent but they have next to nothing coming through, especially the Dogs who will lose Treloar and Libba before they know it.According to the draft poster pm bangers he thinks it is very unlikely sanders will be on the board come our pick as Melbourne GWS bulldogs are after a mid.
It's a bit wierd the whole Esava being the difference between Port winning a flag or not common opinion. I think back to early 2022, travelling to Melbourne from Perth (home) with my wife and seeing the Cats getting smashed by Stkilda. At that point I literally thought there's no way we can win a flag, our list is crap. After that we won the rest of the games for the season... maybe i should visit more often lol... but back to point...Lol.

And if it does reach the draft I don't think it bothers us.
If we're prepared to go that far in negotiations and risk getting any return, it's a clear indication that we don't rate this draft and believe we can pick up whoever we want with later picks.
