Yeah at first sight of him, I reckon he'll be a KPF by the end of next year...and l already hear the 'Bontempelli' phrase being thrown around for Smillie..what is he 193/4cm and 90+kg running around midfield,back & forward.
Tyler Welsh kicks like's his old man and is a solid unit...pity the dreaded 'homesickness' got his old man after we won the flag would've have been nice getting him under F/S.

Not sure how many times it needs to be stated, but if you want an intercept defender, there's a very good chance you're going to be disappointed with Curtin.

He does a lot of things well, intercepting is not one of them.

Yeah I don't see it happening. I love Caddy as a prospect but specifically as a mostly forward with bursts through the midfield.

He's a no frills see ball get ball type. His field kicking needs to be improved along with consistency with his marking and decision making. I don't see him being able to easily transition into playing as a defender, certainly not for a while.

I think keeping it simple for him is important, particularly early days. Park him in the forward 50m and tell him to lead, mark and then kick the goal or hit a target inside 50m. Let him build his consistency and confidence in the position he's most comfortable.

I'm a big fan of him but keep him in the forward half for sure. His on-field temperament and style reminds me of Zurhaar - and I'm sure we'd probably agree that Zurhaar in defense wouldn't make much sense.

I'd be surprised. Schultz was out of nowhere (that we tried to get as a DFA in 2021) and Ginnivan doesn't really suit our side. And by that I mean more than anything I'd be surprised if we've marked down anyone bar pick 2 at this stage.

Stick McKercher on a wing and let him blow up multiple opponents each week.
If we can get pick 8 for O'Sullivan or Curtin id feel better about not taking Duursma.

I'm getting sucked into the Duursma whirlpool a little but can completely see Watson selected at 3. I don't see a way we can get Reid and McKercher and I prefer Reid and Watson to Reid and Duursma.

I didn’t realise twomey worked at the cats list management team

They will have pick 8 and 25 in the draft after Esava that’s it
They I reckon will want more pick in the teens

Will have a few weeks to still discuss with them before the draft

I'd say if we trade up we have a specific target in mind so I guess it depends who and where we think we can get him.
