Exactly and that's why it isn't good enough. If we have an injury, especially to LDU or Jy, then we don't have the depth and/or experience to cover them yet.Not sure you can really say our midfield isn't good enough. This season was such a mess that our best midfield has never even played together.
To replace bailey the butcherSo why did we just trade in Stephens?
No use looking in the rear vision mirror we can't change that - keep your eyes on the road ahead..Yep, it's a nothing pick. Fine to use it on Biggie. Unfortunately we got that pick when we dump traded pick 43 before the draft last year. It wasn't great list management.

You don't delist elite talent like thatI’d suggest Mahony is gone regardless
They have one decent pick (8), one average pick (25), and one speculative pick (60). They can trade picks up until and during the draft. They have several rookies that they might be planning on upgrading. They have a full suite of 2024 picks as well. Plenty of options for drafting/upgrading enough players to fill their list. Forgoing one of Caddy or O'Sullivan (or possibly Watson/Sanders) for two of our teen picks would not be high on the list IMO.Think of it as 8,25,60 and 61 vs 15,18, 25 and 60
They only have 2 decent picks atm
Splitting 8 to get the more spread out hand could appeal
They have spots to fill after not bringing in anyone
Thanks for the laughYou don't delist elite talent like that
problem is as perps hinted this stuff happens all to often, you really have to learn from your mistakes rather than ad nausium repeating them, our list management has been very poor for a long time, if we get out of the celler and dont have access to the pointy end of the draft we are going to have to become a lot better at this caper. No use looking in the rear vision mirror we can't change that - keep your eyes on the road ahead..
I agree we need depth but I'm pretty sure bailey is locked into a wing position. To replace bailey the butcher
But no agree I don’t want mckercher when imo he’s not even better than the best 5 mids next year
Yep it’s all about balanceproblem is as perps hinted this stuff happens all to often, you really have to learn from your mistakes rather than ad nausium repeating them, our list management has been very poor for a long time, if we get out of the celler and dont have access to the pointy end of the draft we are going to have to become a lot better at this caper.
Yes I get that, we had a period of absolute poor list management - Moneyball type shit.problem is as perps hinted this stuff happens all to often, you really have to learn from your mistakes rather than ad nausium repeating them, our list management has been very poor for a long time, if we get out of the celler and dont have access to the pointy end of the draft we are going to have to become a lot better at this caper.
Perps is referring to Brady’s last years dumping of pick 40s/50s to this years pick 57 and 65Yes I get that, we had a period of absolute poor list management - Moneyball type s**t.
But lucky for us those types are no longer with us, Brady has done a bloody good job over the last couple of years - especially with all the JHHF crap and outside noise our club has been copping too.
We now have some excellent picks this year and all of our movements have been fairly water tight in recent times, not like the good ol' days of a few years back.. those years are gone and are in the record book - only Marty McFly can change that.
Why people keep going back to that s**t and inflicting pain on themselves is absolutely mind boggling to me..
We can have more than 2 player suitable for the wing cant we? Maybe they're eyeballing Stephens for half back who knows. So why did we just trade in Stephens?
Who cares???... we've got a club record 8055 points to go shopping with along with two elite left-footed runners already on the books.Perps is referring to Brady’s last years dumping of pick 40s/50s to this years pick 57 and 65
Not referring to pre brady moves
he's saying and I agree they could have easily used that pick (plenty of KPF could have been taken, take 1 less rookie last year) instead of trading it away for what will seemingly likely not be usedWho cares???... we've got a club record 8055 points to go shopping with along with two elite left-footed runners already on the books.
Couldn't give a flying * about last years picks in the 40's and 50's..

Happy with eitherDo you think North do
8,25 for 15,17,18?
Or would North want something different,

This post has to be a nomination for anti-POTY.Yes, he stuffed it up. We ended player trade period with more picks than list positions and rather than push a couple of players back to the rookie list, he traded in another pick so we had to dump trade. We ended up one of three teams with a maxed out primary list and had no flexibility at the draft because we had committed to taking Cooper with our last pick. It was a complete shambles.

it's minor but id rather Keeler or lemmey on our list over hamish free for example
Thanks mate, much appreciated. This post has to be a nomination for anti-POTY.
I'm unsure whether it is something Brady & Co. are considering. They might be happy selecting 3 targets in the 20-25 range on the night. Or depending on who is still on the board at 8 (which will most likely be 10 at that point), potentially trading up with something similar as you suggested above.Do you think North do

The top 8 is what the media want you to believeGiven there seems to be a clear top eight "open" prospects, I'd be surprised if two of our later teens picks is the best Geelong could do by draft night.
More to the point, do you think Mackie does? I think we are clearly open to trading 2 of the teens picks into a single digit pick, but I don't think we will do 3 or throw in a 2nd rounder....maybe you guys keep the 25?Do you think North do
