Cats look the best target considering the picks they hold and the fact that they traded for picks in the 90s which obviously means they are taking a few picks in this pool.

You missed the part where the last two days it’s been directed at my own board “North aren’t offering picks 2 and 3 for pick one”. Now it’s the North Melbourne turn for a point to the sign.

The vast majority of the North board are patient, passionate and decent people happy to have a discussion.

Sheezel, Wardlaw and Tsatas didn’t want to go. They nominated. They (and their managers) made it clear privately. WC traded 2 for 8 and 12. Reid camp have and will do the same. WC will do the same.

You are an overly obsessive supporter.
I know this because your patterns are repetitive - surely, tiresome? First I thought it was due to time difference. But I was wrong..
Within a heart beat, you respond to comments that don’t appease your views on WC’s best interest for the draft.
You begin by acting somewhat amicable with your ‘I come in peace’ stuff, but you can’t help to try and refute or counter argue someone’s comment about a trade that doesn’t land WC Harley Reid or pick 2,3.
And you do it because in your mind you can’t accept the idea that WC part with Harley Reid. You can’t fathom it. You get more aggressive as the suggestions get worse.
And by obsessively counter arguing anyone else’s post about a deal that is sub-par your expectations for WC, you feel weirdly cleansed or vindicated. Almost as if the WC recruiting team caught wind of your great work.

This just all wouldn’t be a problem if people like Ralph wouldn’t say Curtin would make a great captain in 6-8 years.

if your side is so fragile that it can only win 3 games a year because some people are injured at various stages then you have pretty much answered your own question as to why people believe we don't have the quality midfield depth.

I think we have enough to win a lot more games than we have this season, eventually, I don't know if we have the right pieces in the middle to be a premiership contender at some point in the future. If you wait until the evidence is obvious then you have probably blown your window of opportunity to address it through the draft and it will become significantly more difficult to do it via trades or free agency.

I don't think we will have access to the best midfielders available next year, if we do then we have bigger problems to worry about.

I am not sure who we are targeting or who we will draft, and I don't really care tbh. I'm happy if we get Watson or whomever.

Sheezle isn't even a defender and he won the B&F and rising star playing a role he has never played before. The kid is star quality. He didn't need to have every piece in place to have a crack and find some of the footy.

......hasnt been a defender but imo the lines are blurring quickly.
The more guys that can get up and back time after time quickly are filling all but a few positions on the ground.

I'd be happy to go with the 5x 1st rounders but l feel we need to walk out with at least 4x 1st rounders in this draft - l don't really like trading away future picks unless players gets squeezed out next year and we receive 2nd and 3rd rounders to replenish what we lost?

And I agree - it MAY be beneficial to trade down to improve the lacklustre mid draft holdings - but it would have to be of value.
The offer of four mid picks doesn’t address anything here . Again, I refer back to the perfectly reasonable Hawthorn offer.

It’s just a matter of what Rawlings is happy to pony up and whether it nets us what we need.

I reckon the deal happens myself. Neither of us will be perfectly happy.

Hawks offer was better than our free hit attempt before trading many of those picks.
BUT.....it was pick 4 and something uncertain next year. Pick does not get you McKercher +sweetener which we all KNOW is WC want. I bet they cant even decide between the two but with a poker face tell everyone a deal must be YUGE!

North have said we're interested at the right price, so WC only need pick up the phone and be reasonable given we all know pick1 and 2 are very close in talent.
Either one is fine by me, Reid isnt a full time mid and more a power player utility which we could use. But we also need another running machine to fill the opposite wing to Scott. McKercher and Scott power running would be a nightmare for most teams.
