Potential starting medium forwards next season; Stephenson, Sheezel, Curtis, George, Thomas, Ford and Zurhaar. Yes some of them will spend time in the midfield / on the wing but I'm not convinced we can fit them all, let alone the potential addition of Duursma.

I would be thrilled with any combination of McKercher/Curtin/Watson/Caddy/O'Sullivan.

Some will try and chime in that any/all/some of Curtin/Watson/Caddy/O'Sullivan would be a 'reach' at picks 2 or 3, but I disagree.

For me there's a clear top 2 in this draft (Reid/Walter), then the next group from 3-8~ is roughly all on par.

I do not have Duursma in that group, for what it's worth. And yes, I fully acknowledge I'm massively in the minority on that one. And yes, if Duursma turns into a star I'll cop shit for this take, and if we draft him I'll barrack for the kid like crazy and hope like hell that I was wrong about him.

Duursma doesn’t have the class or skill execution of Burgoyne, it is a silly comparison.

Granted I’ve only seen some highlight packages but I don’t see it either.

Burgoyne was never a marking half forward

Burgoyne (either Shaun or Peter) are a terrible comparison for Duursma.

IF you rate Duursma highly, and want to be generous, then the comparison I'd make for him would be more like a Bayley Fritsch from the Dees.

Bayley Fritsch: 188cm, 84kg. Kicked 38 goals in 17 games this year, and is good overhead.

Zane Duursma: 189cm, 79kg. Bit taller and leaner, but similar play style for my money.
