Apologies for any inconvenience. We will try to find a replacement.
Yeah we have enough state league speculative players we don’t need to pick up more if we create more spaces use it on draftees. If we can’t get a pick decent enough don’t make the space for it.spending picks on delisted shitters instead of picking up state league guns like Geelong.
mate Humphries was playing WAFL, he wasnt playing park footyGeelong deliberately hides their potential recruits. They tell them to play out of position or don't play at all (take a holiday lol). They even go as far as putting them in divisions with no scouts having a look.
It's how they keep getting blokes like Humphries and Stewart. No one knew about them.

Maybe we could have people scouting such leagues.Humphries was in the West Coast NGA program and entered the draft three times before Geelong took him but you are mostly bang on.
I've run all opposition posts through an analyser, a collective mind dump if you will.
Here are the results.

Strategies go by the wayside when a teams #1 rated player is on the board and there is an available pick.Adding to the chorus, the longer we hold the higher the value of #2. It may swing either way if we take it to the draft to sell though. ie - there might be desperate buyers but equally clubs might want to be pretty set in their strategies by the actual day rather than throw a last second Hail Mary.
But we are very likely to hold the last gettable top 3 pick. Carlton traded up with a purpose and Richmond almost certainly won't shift out of #1.
Eventually someone might overreach and offer something ridiculously compelling.
Tim Kelly took a few times before getting drafted didnt he?Humphries was in the West Coast NGA program and entered the draft three times before Geelong took him but you are mostly bang on.
Yeah likely a top 6 pick next yearI think there is a mix currently where next years first round pick is criminally under valued and this years picks are criminally over valued. It concerns me what our F1 has been getting valued at currently. Next year F1 could easily be W.Duursma which covers off keeping Zane happy and athletic swingman.
Every year about 15-20 state leaguers get picked up.Tim Kelly took a few times before getting drafted didnt he?
Nic Martin was SSP.
There's players out there.
Why are we not drafting the best play from the VFL grand finalists every year?
Just remember fans don’t speak for the clubs and what they are actually doing behind the scenes. North and Richmond will only make a deal if both teams feel it’s in their teams best interest**** Richmond! They clearly want pick 2 and are trying to act if it's nothing, expect us to just give it and future first for 6 and 11 because how deep draft is. Either they give us a good offer or we talk to others, clearly they'll be other teams after it.
6, 11 and 18 for 2 and future first or find someone else who will trade for it.
We let Sydney and Dogs get there way, can't let Tigers too or we just look weak.
Has anyone seen Nostra and Rawlings in the same room?
I don't understand how they wouldn't give up 6 and something to get pick 2. They guarantee the player they want rather than waiting until pick 6. There's no guarantee Smillie or Langford is there at 6.Richmond will cave.
No way they take all their picks this year.
As we saw with GWS and GCS. All their kids think they are stars, and if they aren't playing regularly immediately, they will leave to play elsewhere.
Better off evening it out over two years.
If I see one campaigner sleeping in a north guernseyI don't understand how they wouldn't give up 6 and something to get pick 2. They guarantee the player they want rather than waiting until pick 6. There's no guarantee Smillie or Langford is there at 6.
Smillie's mum put out a cheeseboard for the recruiters. If that doesn't say GoDees then nothing will!

From McGowan's article in The Age...Dont think they want Smillie.
Lalor is also a huge risk at pick 1.
We took the best goal scorer 3 times in Smith, Hosie and Sellers with no success.Every year about 15-20 state leaguers get picked up.
The hit rate is not great.
Naming a few excellent ones does not change this
If we keep 2, that player does an 18 month apprenticeship at HB: all of FOS, Langford, Draper or Smith would all be handy there.Exactly.
FOS fits beautifully in our mix imo.
in fact, im now hoping for this outcome, as Richmonds board have basically cemented him into their best 22 and have been fobbing over him for the last 4 weeks.
The attention has now turned to Lalor and Smillie.
Would would certainly be an......interesting... combination to go with.
In FOS we'd land our version of Josh Kelly in the end. Even if he's not the absolute best player in this draft, he absolutely suits what our midfield lacks. Gut running, exquisite foot skills, outside class, versatility to move mid, back, forward.
In fact, I could see him playing half back next year in the same apprenticeship as Sheezel and McKercher.
We can afford the risk on him.
Where does Daniel play?If we keep 2, that player does an 18 month apprenticeship at HB: all of FOS, Langford, Draper or Smith would all be handy there.
