Abortion isn't a fringe issue, it has significant ramifications on society, the economy and healthcare.

Suddenly throwing an additional 3-4 million unwanted kids into society yearly because abortion cannot be done easily is absurd. Of course the knock of impacts of it are never discussed.
Either side of politics (except the far left and right) don't want to touch abortion and therefore the status quo.

Therefore, it's a cultural war and the major are ok with the situation.

Women being forced to carry children that they do not want and not being able to get safe abortion, is absolutely equally as important as any other economic factor in society yes.... If you can't see the negative impacts of possibly millions of unwanted children suddenly flooding society then you are being incredibly dense.
Abortion is an option women should have, but it's not a 'good thing.' it should be a serious, considered conversation and be a sad, morbid, and quiet thing. but I know plenty of women who have about multiple from unprotected drunk sex. not sure that's particularly noble.

Won't even go into the whole story of men who are trapped into having children they don't want but literally can't do a thing to stop that.

96% of Property investors only have one property and it's usually its aim is to make capital growth and then sell at retirement. Those funds to be put into Super.

All of those people will vote against it which happen in the Shorten vs Morrison election.

Always bank on self-interest.
Negative gearing has to go along with any other tax benefit that favours those who “have.”

If men don’t want a child they have created they aren’t men.

It's a reasonable question to ask, but a strange one to answer if you have insight into your own political leaning.

If you lean left, then you are commenting on what's wrong with today's young men.

If you lean right, then their you probably think it makes perfect sense.

The premise of the question makes it hard to stay objective.

If a women has had multiple abortions because they like a bit of fun so what?
Absolutely.
It's like that guy who sticks the jam jar up his ass and needs to get it removed at the hospital.

He's just having fun, but he doesn't want it up there for 9 months.
Prudes.

Blame their parents? what the hell.

I grew up in a socialist household where when we were sick, were told how lucky we were to have that operation or packet of pills paid for by our state; that people without jobs should get some money while they look for one.

I still believe in all of those things but I've massively pulled back on certain thoughts, switched sides on some policies, and decided to make a choice on ones I was in the middle about.

How are my parents responsible for that? I'm in my 30s.

You guys live in some wfh environment, never leave the house, and eat all your food from a delivery app. you have no actual idea on the real world.

100%

You're all welcome to your opinion, but I'll respect it a hell of a lot more if you've tried to start your own business, grown up somewhere pretty f$cked, busted your ass for a dream, failed a few times and managed to succeed.

But if you're going to attend a few lectures, watch a few podcasts and then lecture me as my moral superior, forgive me for looking the other way.

So...women who get an abortion aren't women?
Not at all. A woman has the right to have an abortion if she wants as it is her body.
It would be pretty heavy emotionally though.

They are not interested in achievement, money or doing something they dislike.

Ok so if they are not interested in this, then what is it that they want?
Unfortunately, society dictates that there is a need for money to live. I wish that wasn't the case but at present there is a need to work to earn money to therefore survive. I have a 22 year old and 19 year old. Neither finished school because there were better things to do with their time. And they have then struggled to understand why keeping employment if you don't follow the rules of the company is quite difficult to do.

I've found almost an expectation that everything is easy to attain. That the idea of working hard shouldn't be a requirement to earn as much as someone who has been working for 30 years. There should be immediate reward. Things will just happen.

I've worked in education for 20 years. The change in attitude has been dramatic. Less expectation to follow rules, little backing by home, a process where excuses are made for behaviour for years only to find when these young men decide to get trades or employment to leave school, no one will take them. And this isn't all of them. But that number that would have been a small amount 30 years ago has increased in size.

Young men have been influenced by a new environment. Social media, podcasts etc have had such an impact on their growth and understanding and place in the world. And you can see it even on BF when comments about white guys being blamed for all of societies ills.

Shit I'm a white middle aged guy. I know my privilege. I know I've been lucky. I also know I'm not 'responsible' for the ills of the world. But understand and respect the history of society to understand that white guys have had it pretty ****ing good.

Men are not forced into anything. Either refrain or wear a condom. There are many instances when women should have an abortion such as being a victim of rape etc or if there are medical problems.
With all the advantages nature has given men in regards to reproduction such as being able to reproduce into old age etc women deserve some power over their body.

this is such a redundant argument. women can also use contraceptives yet there are thousands of abortions every year
