Best sides? Plural? So not just the reigning premiers?
Go ahead and make the argument that sides wouldn’t be putting the most time into the team that’s just played off in two grand finals. Go on.

Why would I make an argument that I don't agree with?

Why can't you just answer my question instead of putting words in my mouth?

Because it’s a stupid question that you already know the answer to.

Who got punched in the balls? Thats a great way to drop someone with zero high contact at all. Genius

Harry Caspar (Carlton) repeatedly squirrel gripped and belted Coleman in the crown jewels.

Coleman chinned him and got reported and suspended. Very rare in the days of one umpire, no video and “fair justice” often being accepted by umpires and tribunals.

If you want a serious answer for Richmond - it's tricky. Sure we had our good 4-years just recently, but we didn't make finals in either year past that - and we weren't close in either. (It's our best-ever 4-year period without doubt).
In 1931-35, we played in 5 straight finals series, 4 GFs for 2 flags.
1940-44, 5 final series, 4 GFs, 1 flag.
1971-75, 5 final series, 3GFs, 2 flags.

Richmond tend to have great, short eras (4-9 years), surrounded by long spells of 'ordinary tending towards absolutely terrible'. We don't have any 'surprise' one-and-done flags. If we do make finals, we have the best record for making it to the GF (and behind only Hawthorn for winning the whole thing). Trouble is, over our full history, we don't make finals enough. (well, OK - not too bad - 13 flags is still pretty good).

It was brutal back then hey. Greening for us still gets talked about as something that was disgraceful

No piss farting around with hope at Punt Rd. Heres ya 5 year dynasty. See ya again in 30 years. I like the structure

Leaving the ground and sufficient intent probably weren't brought up either

I know my answer. I'm asking yours, but we all know why you can't answer it. :)
What rubbish. All clubs get looked at over summer, but the premier side is always the side that everyone is trying to pull apart heading into the next season, especially one that’s played off in 2 GF’s.

Haven’t seen this level of denial from you since ooga booga.

I haven't denied anything.

I've only asked a question and you've now answered it. Thanks. :)

Port Adelaide best 5 year streak
2001-2005
H&A 80-1-29.
5 finals series
3 minor premierships
Only 1 flag*

Next best, the last 5 years,
2020-2024
H&A 74-0-33
4 top 3 finishes
Zero GF’s **

* Unfortunately choked a couple of finals
and ran into Brisbane’s 2000-2004 seasons
H&A 76-1-33, 5 finals series, 3 flags

** #Sac#sackken

Good times had between 1951 to 1965 including 6 in a row flags.

This is what you fail to comprehend.

There is no tie, when one team has won a threepeat in 4 straight GF’s and the other hasn’t.

And like I said you can shove AA’s and being “more celebrated”.
AA’s soon meant nothing, when a player could win a B&F in a premiership year and not be in the team.
Keep telling yourself that, but in a 5 year sequence:

-Fail, succeed, succeed, succeed, fail

Isn't more impressive, dominant or high calibre than:

-Succeed, fail, succeed, fail, succeed

You're confusing a 5 year timeline with a 3 year timeline. Hawthorn has a better 3 year timeline, and 10 year timeline, this century.

Geelong beat tougher opponents, all away from home, had more total wins, better %, more accolades and more star players. Hawthorn got 4 Port 2007 style grand final opponents - 3 of whom they beat up on their home ground. One they somehow lost to.

I guess it depends whether you are talking about the 'Club' (Hawthorn/Geelong), or the 'Team' that represented the clubs each year.

Geelong 2007 compared to Geelong 2011 had only 12 players that played both GFs.

Hawthorn 2013 compared to Hawthorn 2015 had 17 players that played both GFs AND the same coach.
In a merged team Hawthorn wouldn't get Franklin though. Need to have played in at least 2 of the 3 premierships in a given period. A merged team would be an interesting exercise.

If anything, doing it for longer (premiership spread) with more players changing over, actually fits the word "dynasty"'s origins more accurately. 6 in 10 would be more of a dynasty than 4 in a row, for example. Aussie rules supporters have really bastardised the word compared to other sports codes.

I can't take you seriously at all. This post is laughable and you're talking out your absolute arse.

There is no tie between a club that can back it up 3 years in a row and one that cannot.
"more stars" "more accolades" what a load of crap. Flags are all that matter.

Total wins doesn't mean a thing, and no one cares. It's hilarious that you keep leaning on them in the face of a side that won 3 flags straight.

They can’t be told. The only criteria they ever want to hear is self-serving.

3 in 5 is the equivalent of a 3-peat somehow, but winning a 3-peat with less star players/AAs/accolades and lower percentages somehow makes a their achievement more worthy.

Make it make sense.
