Whitlock should never have been selected because now if he is dropped, what kind of message does that send? That is a massive selection blunder.

was on a hiding to nothing.

if we wanted to select a kid we should have gone with Dawson.

If we wanted to have an actual settled back 6 we should have kept Pink in.

If we wanted to try and win the f***ing game then we should not play 4 key backs.

shambles.

We beat this side last year. With their all their mids in.

Losing would be another step back, in a consistent backwards moonwalk.
Even if we lose by a lot I gurentee there will still be a fair number of posters on this board saying that as a team we are still so much better in 2025 vs 2024. The reality is the improvement is far less than those same posters like to think.

and it will be untill we address the inadequacies that still challenge the list, depth, KPPs and a genuine fwd goal sneak are all areas with glaring weakness.

Disagree. Dimma and his staff have managed to turn that club's mindset around in about nine months. They look hungry and look like they believe they belong. We don't. Also, it's early in the season. Gold Coast almost always play well early on. 35+ point loss would be disappointing, a closer loss than that would be fine-middling. A win would obviously be ideal, but won't pack the emotional punch it should, because we'll all be wondering whether they're capable of that consistently

You mean expecting to beat a side that we’ve beaten in the previous encounter?

Yeah, that atrocious.
I get what you are saying but the Suns appear to have a totally different mentality this year away from home.
They should've beaten us last year with their talent. We fought and held on, got a bit of luck they turned it over.
But looking at their team they don't lack much across the ground and they'll only get stronger with their academy talent.

I don't think there is any doubt that in pure football terms the Suns are at least a 5 goal better side than us at the moment. The only way to counter that is using "other" factors. Such as the game plan, tactics, extra motivation etc

We need to draw on the fact that we are a football club and they are a franchise. As much as Dimma will drill into them that they can win silverware (which they can do with the list they have) they don't play for a real supporter base, don't have a historic significance in this universe, if they stopped existing tomorrow nobody would care outside of financial ramifications. It is up to Clarko to impress upon the players what it means to represent our jumper. We have history and soul of the football club behind us. They have just their professionalism and physical ability.

Couldn't care less about GWS or Gold Coast. Both were handed the golden handshake and neither have won a flag. Proving what we all know. You can't buy a premiership. It has to be earned.

Sure. Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard, but it looks like their talent is finally working hard lol.
So we might be in trouble if we don't bring the pressure and defend.

We're in trouble anyway., but it doesn't alter what I said. I just can't get turned on about GWS or Gold Coast. It's the manufactured part that turns me off.
