To be clear, I don't think there's a conspiracy afoot. But if it did actually happen the way it was initially reported, that means our coaches had no data or vision to scrutinise. It occurred before Collingwood regained the ascendancy.

The point was made by Fox commentators that Collingwood's comms should have been switched off the moment it was realised there was an issue.

If there actually was an issue and theirs wasn't switched off, we should have a problem with that.

So, first there was a clear issue, then there wasn't. So which is it, actually?

Harry Jones is a player without an afl position for mine.
Not a key forward, not a wingman. What is he?

He doesn't have composure and is too anxious. There was a part in the first where he was half forward 55 out and in the wet should have just went for the goalmouth it might have skidded through but instead tried to handball to someone behind and we lost it. Even our first goal he handballed to Langers with too much heat and was almost lost as well. More an athlete playing football - lacks touch and IQ.

Scoreline was pretty much what we all expected, effort was there, we fumble when its dry so rain didn't help.
Collingwood are a good TEAM with a good coach.
We are a promising side but, we seem to be always promising.

A few points:

1. They were way cleaner with the ball…when you have split seconds until you get tackled, composure is key. This caused a lot of issues watching live.

2. Dump kicks out of defence…not one (that I could see) came off where our player was to the advantage of it. Pies always had 2 or 3 ready to pick it off.

3. A number one pick playing in the back pocket…I still can’t get over this…it’s definitely not his fault he got picked first.

4. I can’t recall Brad ever making wholesale changes to make a statement at selection. This is the time to rotate selection and see who can do what…we are in year 3 of this. Everyone should be earning their position atm.

5. Pies have at least 5 early-mid 30s players still delivering for them each week, plus Daicos x 2 and Moore. This is invaluable leadership. Fly doesnt even need to coach. I agree with someone else on here who said to throw the kitchen sink at a Pendles, Steele, Trav Boak, Joel Selwood, Hawkins, Fyfe type person for some leadership, on or off field.

6. On a good note, rapt with the kids. Caddy, Kako, Roberts, the Duzz…1-2 more drafts worth of decent picks before Tassie comes in and we’ll be on our way.

I thought the side performed admirably today.
Reid, kako, caddy, durham, Roberts and duursma are all going well and are quite young.
Ridley, McKay, wright, goody and for most of the game McGrath did their job.
We needed more from Gresham, Martin, Langford and Perkins.
I have serious doubts about Hobbs’ athleticism- he lacks speed, agility and endurance. He also does not take first option and is biting off too much for mine. I do not question his endeavour.
Harry Jones is a player without an afl position for mine.
Not a key forward, not a wingman. What is he?
Setterfield is honest but slow and has little athleticism. He is so slow to spread from a stoppage.
Jaxon Prior is simply not good enough.
I would rather the bombers played tsatsas, Hayes or Davey at this point.
I don’t think anyone could knock our effort today.

the fact is guys like Jones, Prior etc are just making up numbers until we develop other draft prospects per Rosas plan

We all need to accept that there is a good chunk of this team that are not part of our future. These guys wont be here in 2-3 years if all goes well.

There isn't a single list in the AFL where Jones would be starting best 22 i think.

Jones tries his guts out, he just doesn't have the talent or skill for it.

McGrath was a worthy pick 1. the problem is he has not developed anywhere near a guy like McCluggage has. he didn't win the rising star in 2017 for nothing. You could probably blame Essendon itself for a fair bit of that.

his talent stayed stagnant and everyone else has just gone past him.

His skills by foot are shockingly bad, and in all honesty have gotten worse, not to mention he absolutely shits the bed if he gets the ball.
