Depression can get ****ed it’s such a silent killer especially for men in our age brackets in their 40+

Just heartbreaking. I grew up in Bendigo and the Selwood's are such a well known and respected family there. RIP, Adam.

I can't imagine how difficult this is for the Selwood family.

I'm baffled.

Don't want to make assumptions or pretend I know more than I do, but I have known a number of people who have gone down this path, and emotional unpredictability / mental illness can really send people off the rails in a severe way, fast. Especially when someone really close to them chooses to opt out.

It's compounded when very close-knit groups of people suffer from similar extreme mental illness, like bipolar or clinical depresssion / borderline personality. They're anchored by their immediate family members. The loss of famiily makes daily life a gauntlet. The Selwood family likely knew that this outcome was possible. Most people with severely depressed family members always have it in the backs of their mind.

It's bloody horrible. **** depression.

He was an ambassador for a suicide prevention organisation years before Troy's death. Genetics are also a major contributor to the likelihood of developing depression, and being an identical twin of someone who has succumbed to depression increases your risk five-fold compared to non-identical twins

Adam's eulogy for Troy showed the level of pain he was going through. Unfortunately, far too much to bear. Very sad news.
