I'm happy enough with this.
Our forward line is not good beyond Caddy and Kako for the future ... Jones, Peter Wright, Perkins, Gresham, Davey etc ... not sold on them. So bringing in forwards as potentially more long term replacements to try out im ok with. And Rucks, well, we only have Goldy in the immediate so we needed something

If we were any danger of being a finals team or something then I'd be questioning why we are not bringing in top-up defenders, but at this point, its more like a, what's the point? Season is done so no point wasting picks that will just be discarded once those injuries are fixed since the defenders that are injured are at least ones we know we definitely want to keep.

Scott clearly doesnt rate him highly

And hasnt had a great year

Getting dropped 2-3 times a year out of contract doesnt bode well
Doesn’t rate him highly? He’s played 5 games this year. He only came in as the sub because they didn’t believe he had the tank. He was subbed out of the dogs game because they needed to take someone out of the mid group. Doesn’t mean Scott doesn’t rate him

Played 1 full game

Tank is apart of being a footballer

Hes 24, 1 game and unsigned. Hes far from a certainty to be on the list next year

Seems like clubs tend to take forwards in the MSD as a sort of head start on the national draft, whereas I guess decent tall defenders are more plentiful.

To go with alumin such as Jacob Edwards, Lachlan Hosie, Jaiden Hunter, Jack Buller

seems a good hunting ground

We ain’t playing finals this year

If we think McMahon can pinch in the back half for 6-8 weeks, then the whole draft makes sense.

A mature ruck, KP depth at both ends and a creative ball user in the front half.

I think this is the point missed by every casual observer making a point. The bulk of the guys haven't died. Hayes did his ACL but apart from that, the rest of the lot should return in 6 weeks. No point taking a KPD for 2 - 3 games, the guys taken are long term (May & Smartt) or genuine stop gaps (McMahon & Blankiston)
