Looked horrible in match sim when he played back.Gerryn might be adaptable enough
Think his spot on the list is well and truly up for grabs right nowOther than uncontracted why would SEH be worried ?

Seems like clubs tend to take forwards in the MSD as a sort of head start on the national draft, whereas I guess decent tall defenders are more plentiful.
McMahon played a full VFL season in defense a couple of years agoNeed defenders
Draft forwards
Classic Essendon
Well may is contracted for next year, he’s 18 months14 I think.
So, anyone picked up tonight definitely has a chance to stay on if they perform.
Lobb has closing speed. Wright would struggleReckon 2MP will go back.
Geez if a spud like Rory Lobb can do it then surely 2MP can
Why his spot?Think his spot on the list is well and truly up for grabs right now
Scott clearly doesnt rate him highlyWhy his spot?
Doesn’t rate him highly? He’s played 5 games this year. He only came in as the sub because they didn’t believe he had the tank. He was subbed out of the dogs game because they needed to take someone out of the mid group. Doesn’t mean Scott doesn’t rate himScott clearly doesnt rate him highly
And hasnt had a great year
Getting dropped 2-3 times a year out of contract doesnt bode well

I'm happy enough with this.
Our forward line is not good beyond Caddy and Kako for the future ... Jones, Peter Wright, Perkins, Gresham, Davey etc ... not sold on them. So bringing in forwards as potentially more long term replacements to try out im ok with. And Rucks, well, we only have Goldy in the immediate so we needed something
If we were any danger of being a finals team or something then I'd be questioning why we are not bringing in top-up defenders, but at this point, its more like a, what's the point? Season is done so no point wasting picks that will just be discarded once those injuries are fixed since the defenders that are injured are at least ones we know we definitely want to keep.
To go with alumin such as Jacob Edwards, Lachlan Hosie, Jaiden Hunter, Jack Buller
seems a good hunting ground
Thats what I saidWe ain’t playing finals this year
Likely because there’s a pathway from failed forwards to decent defenders. Doesn’t really go the other way
I think this is the point missed by every casual observer making a point. The bulk of the guys haven't died. Hayes did his ACL but apart from that, the rest of the lot should return in 6 weeks. No point taking a KPD for 2 - 3 games, the guys taken are long term (May & Smartt) or genuine stop gaps (McMahon & Blankiston)If we think McMahon can pinch in the back half for 6-8 weeks, then the whole draft makes sense.
A mature ruck, KP depth at both ends and a creative ball user in the front half.
