Fact is we've got no idea what's going to happen even if we hit Dudley with the gamma radiation and he rucks this week. We hit 100 in the very wet against Port. Made GWS look second rate at home. Got wiped out by Melbourne and Saints. Let's be honest people. We have no idea what we are going to see from this team on the weekend. Could lose by 100 or win by 50 and anything in between. This is the Walyup Rolercoasters. Either way, the game day thread will be entertaining as always.

In what world does this make sense? We just played the best wet weather game in our history , the same occurs and we rush back in a few giants with no match fitness or poor form.
I get we need to take the chance with Fyfe while we have him, just put him on ice until our next home game which is a month away. Darcy should've built form in the WAFL, the ruck combo is perfect right now.
What absolute insanity is this?

Even more reason to not go in slow and cumbersome. We would run them off the park if we picked a reasonable team.

Also, if Fyfe pinged his hammy on the Gold Coast and ends his career without getting a home farewell game it’s a tragedy.. why risk him in a wet weather slog on the GC in front of 500 people? Rather see him play at Optus.

someone here made the mad suggestion of having a ruck as sub but JL isn't actually going to do that surely? It harkens back to the first few rounds of trying to shoehorn Draper in to an already oversized backline and completely ****ing our team balance. I get that injuries have forced our hand here but crikey moses. Flabbergasted at not including Aish's sure ball handling in what will be wet conditions.

I’ve got no problems him being sub (or even starting) when they all get a week off after it

Fyfe was 4-6 weeks at the start of May so he's had some magic juice or something.
I appreciate we're not generally a supporter base that reaches for nuance where rage is available, but some of the discourse this afternoon has been genuinely unhinged.
And if years staring into the abyss of Peel stats sheets has convinced you Will Brodie brings more to the table than Nathan Fyfe, I'm not sure there's much polite society can do to help you.
- No-one's disputing Jackson is the number one ruckman. But he has a proven issue against bigger, more physical opponents. The effort against Briggs was great, but isn't enough to fully counter the established evidence. I've got absolutely no issue with Darcy as a chop-out to ensure Dogga isn't being bashed and scragged bell to bell by Witts given he's going to be pretty ****ing critical to the back end of the season.
- Draper isn't being "forced into the backline" - he's a like-for-like replacement for our injured, 200cm captain.
- O'Driscoll played managed minutes for Peel and is clearly still building.
- Bolton playing deeper forward is the most logical replacement for Dudley.
And if years staring into the abyss of Peel stats sheets has convinced you Will Brodie brings more to the table than Nathan Fyfe, I'm not sure there's much polite society can do to help you.

Shai Bolton goes to Dudley’s role. Assuming Fyfe goes into the centre as another body.
I really hate this mentality. We need to claw back a few upsets after the Swans and Saints losses and the Suns are gettable. There is no more room for honourable losses when you're back in the pack and need to fight tooth and nail for every point. If we can win this we have North and Essendon at Optus and we'll be seriously eyeing off a top 4 finish. Longmuir needs this badly.
