What are the alternatives? Would you feel better if it were Brad Lloyd choosing a rookie coach? Whatever Wright does is going to be considered a messiah move. Do we stay the course? What is that course? How much evidence do we need to make a decision?

Even the seasons we made finals, we were wildly inconsistent. 2023, we thought we were gone half way through. We have not shown that the status quo will get us anywhere.

It was hyperbole.

I am thrilled Graham Wright is the person in charge of everything at the club.

This makes me sad. Because it means there is even a choice. Michael Voss should be gone regardless of any player who might or might not be at Carlton.

Hard to see Voss surviving, we have regressed this year in many ways.
l don't see the upside going forward with Vossy unfortunately.

It looks like a lot of fans outside of BF are calling Voss out too.

According to a report lots of bluebaggers calling into radio talkback after the game to show how disgusted they’ve been with our lack of effort and terrible game style.

I think it’s just a matter of time before club makes the call on Voss.

He’s had 3-4 years now and we’ve been stagnant if not going backwards.

As of now Voss is going to have to look to justify the decisions he and the coaches have made in relation to our game style and also proof of ability to change tact as required. If that justification does not add up it won’t look good.

Did you not see the Swans percentage mid way through last year when they were easily sitting on top of ladder?
12 finals appearances from 14 seasons coaching would suggest they can score ok. He’s probably in the top 3 or 4 coaches in the country. And just happens to be twiddling his thumbs right now…

Sydney were one of the best transition teams in the AFL under Longmire. For me he was the best coach in the AFL.

Not going to pretend I know if Longmire is another pending failed messiah or not. We've tried all routes and none have worked.

Mick was a messiah.
Bolton was the highly-credentialed assistant coach from a successful club.
Teague was the highly-rated assistant who had runs on the board as a caretaker.
Voss was both an experienced coach and a high rated assistant.

I thought all of them were good appointments at the time, so ****ed if I know.

I’ll leave game plans, structures, plan b’s to the ones who have that nous. I don’t read every post here but what ones I do see overwhelmingly blame Voss for our plight and very little at the feet of the players…I’d like to see Charlie chase and not laugh with former players, Doc not picking up or tapping the bum of oppo players after tackling them, TDK showing the physicality he showed against his brother against the bruisers, our players reacting to twerps like Simpkin and no. 24 (yesterday) bumping into our players at every opportunity without much in return, Weitering going down like he’s been shot only to come out as if nothing has happened, players showing the mental toughness to play more than two quarters and in adversity.

Currently our players have chosen to play really, really nice which does not serve well a group who already have deficiencies like lack of speed, skill and list depth.

Start with players first then the teams around Voss before moving on Voss as that is the easiest choice to make and not necessarily the right one imho.

Whether or not we sacked coaches prematurely in the past, should have no impact influence on what we do with Voss, the issue has always been making the wrong decisions, consistently over a long period.

Make a good decision, don’t worry what the media or fans think, if it’s sack, sack the coach, if the best candidate is Longmire, then hire him.
