To make top 4 winning every game at Marvel is not enough

Agree, and nor should it. Dogs have had opportunities to win most of the games they’ve lost (only the hawthorn one was a terrible performance), and haven’t been able to take them or have lost the game by having an atrocious quarter. The record speaks for itself.

In a season where there are a bunch of poor teams, we can’t sneak to 15-8 and hope a good percentage gets us in. If the dogs are a genuine contender then this week is a 4-5 goal win and sets up a chance to go on a winning streak. If it’s a loss then the flat track bullies label is warranted.

I’m personally fairly confident, although it is unnerving that the Swans have got back some of their elite talent at the worst time for us. Looking forward to seeing how it plays out. Although it’s only four points like any other game, I feel like it could be season defining.

Every time we play the swans they complain about getting robbed in the 2016 Granf Final by the umpires and AFL conspiracy costing them the flag. Well, it is time to become Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage from MythBusters.

Myth. Did an AFL conspiracy of instructing the umpires to cheat to ensure a Bulldogs win effect the result.

Findings

Whilst there is no doubt the Bulldogs got some frees they were not entitled too (20 to 8), and the swans were not given some they were entitled to there was no evidence to suggest there was and AFL conspiracy. It was found that incorrect frees happens in most games as the umpires are human and never does it effect a result of 22 points or more and there was no AFL conspiracy.

Further evidence revealed the dogs were the superior team and thoroughly deserved their flag. See below

Won by 22 points
7 more scoring shots
Scored 6.10 to 3.4 after half time
Had 59 inside 50's to 41

Myth not proven and factually incorrect.
I don't think there was an AFL conspiracy. You just got the biggest armchair ride of all time from the umpires.

Would a fairly adjudicated game game have resulted in a swans win? No one can say. All we know is we were robbed of the right to find out because the playing field was so heavily stacked against us by extremely biased umpiring.

And while I haven't seen anyone bring up the grand final umpiring in this thread except for yourself... Yes, those who witnessed that travesty will continue to bring it up as long as we all shall live.

Buddy's ankle injury and Tippett crapping himself on the big stage were far bigger factors.

And if Libba didn't tag the hell out of Kennedy in the second half he might have dragged them over the line.

None of that matters tonight.

We were just cashing in on being robbed in a few prelims, they owed us

Legitimately I don't know whether to back the Swans by 6 or the Dogs by 60 in this one. All I know is if either side win it will be close to those respective margins if prior form is anything to go by.
I disagree.

A slightly closer version of Bulldogs/GWS is what I expect because Sydney have a decent 22 on the park now. They've had a couple of good wins at the SCG this season and found some form last week.

Dogs should be 2-5 goals better but not 10+ IMO.

Not to mention McGlynn, Xavier Richards and a handful of other blokes that were dead set passengers in their 22. Bog average team.

Grundy and Josh Kennedy were the only ones that put up a fight.

They got annihilated by GWS on a neutral ground 3 weeks earlier. Then we knocked GWS on their home deck in the prelim. Says a lot about both sides.

It was the worst top 4 this century by far. I was glad that the other 3 teams were shown up like Geelong were. The Cats were bang average that season outside of Dangerfield and Selwood.

Swans eye third straight win as Dogs visit. LIVE from 7.40pm AEST

Follow all the action from the clash between Sydney and the Western Bulldogs

SYDNEY is eyeing a third straight victory when it hosts the Western Bulldogs at the SCG on Friday night.

With guns Errol Gulden, Callum Mills and Tom Papley back in their side, the Swans (6-8) could make a late-season charge.

Even if they fall short of making finals, the Swans could play a pivotal role in shaping the top eight.

Was't it a Knee for buddy?

Or am I thinking of Hannerbury?
