SANFL U18s: 5 games, 24.2 disposals, 1.6 goals

Cumming added another string to his bow over the weekend with a bag of four goals as a deep forward. It's an enticing package when you consider his athletic profile and midfield nous, more naturally finding the ball with regularity through the middle of the ground. Cumming could rise up boards if he showcases more of the power and strength he flashes at u18s level.

He has to have made up his mind by now.

He will probably sign on again with the Saints tomorrow now I have said this but I think he's leaving and going to Port.

I know people will say Port can't get a deal done but the clubs almost always find a way. The AFLPA and AFL will make sure a young indigenous player can get to his cub of choice for family reasons.

If he was staying for a couple more years then I think he would of announced it by now.

Burgoyne going on about them being best mates seemed a bit Rozee/Luko like from last year. I don't think you keep making that point unless you think he is coming to your club.

Spot on except for the deal getting done . I don’t think the Saints would roll over . This is a club that hasn’t tasted premiership success in 60 years about to lose their best player .
Bergman leaving would have opened the door to the trade . Now , they’ll probably try to offload O Lord and a will Lorenz and claim that’s a fair deal

Nick Murray, yes, the others no, but only if we had to.

Muz is a fantastic defender, but we'll be fine with Butts (even if I think he's a bit of a downgrade). Would be quite similar to trading Wellman to get Jarman across.

I think directly head to head Murray has more upside than Butts, but I think that Butts gives our defence a better balance alongside Keane and Worrell more-so than Murray, who also looks more comfortable attacking and creating first and defending second IMO.

Also have to be some question over Murray’s knee management long term.

Nank would be pushing to get us a second rounder if traded. We’re talking about trading for one of the best players in the comp and adding something to what looks like being a pick in the teens. Nank won’t be getting us anywhere near asking price. Not that it matters, sounds like we’re not a realistic chance anyway,

Our 1st this year, our 1st next year and a player like Pedlar or Berry would be around the price imo

I’m not saying he is. I don’t think Nick Murray is either, so I doubt it was a hypothetical straight swap. My point was more that some combination of our two future firsts and depth players like Nankervis should be enough to get a trade done.

Not sure our future first would be valued too highly. 14 and 16 and a depth player would be miles off.

He never explicitly said it was a meeting entirely, or even primarily about NWM; he also represents Cal Ah Chee who some think we're chasing. Be interesting to know where that sits too, and maybe anything further on the Zac Bailey rumours

I reckon NWM and Keeler will go to Port.

Just have to hope we have options.

Hope so. Another A grade player and we will be a genuine contender for a while.
