The VC is even worse. Seriously who makes these decisions there. For a cricketing nation trying to lay a foundation of competitive, maintaining a standard and fighting cricket, they couldn't have picked the two most uninspiring cricketers to lead them.
I loved Windies cricket back in the day, but it's really disappointing to see what has become of it.
The biggest shame is they now possess one of the most exciting bowling attacks in world cricket, but it's all for nothing because they can't produce any batsmen of serious international standard...

Warrican deserves his spot. The VC call I agree with I’m not sure what the thinking was there he’s a follower not a leader.

The batsmen are there, maybe not the world beaters but the concoction who can cobble enough runs together each series to give our attack a chance. Of that I’m confident. What I’m not confident of is that they will ever put them in the same team at the same time

Of course I don’t think a Boland v Lyon debate is going to gain much traction at all heading into the Ashes, but should it? With the tracks in Aus these days, Boland’s record & Lyon losing potency on any non-Subcontinent tracks it maybe should be weighed up.

Aussie wickets are flat. Need Lyon to give fast bowlers spells

How many tests have you watched in Aus with flat-tracks over recent years? I think the Perth tests have been the only ones. Conditions have changed to be totally in fast bowlers favour in Adelaide, Melbourne & Sydney.

Not to mention what the reinforced seamed kookaburra has done.

Quite a few actually. Two all rounders in side. Don't need six seemers

Shamar Joseph was probably player of the series despite his team being beaten 3-nil, can’t think of that ever happening before & they were never giving him the trophy for obvious reasons… and fair enough.

More questions than answers from this series when it comes to the Ashes.

That's going to be interesting, just watching the Poms last night. If they maintain Archer's fitness, along with Wood and they probably play Gus Atkinson over Carse, eventhough he looked good in this test. Also along with Stokes, suddenly their bowling looks better to go with their batting.
If our batting can't perform, and l'm not that confident it can, considering the top order issues have been a consistent problem a few years now, these Ashes are going to be hard to win.
England have absolute rubbish in the spinners category, so maybe that where we can get them...

4-11 pretty much pick themselves, Green will hopefully shore up first drop but Konstas has to go.

Boland's test average is 17 and his strike rate is 38, he's still not a first choice quick, hard to imagine.
He has the disability of being a Victorian, maybe he should be our next opener couldn’t do worse.
