Yes, this!!

Worrell was a one-man WALL in that last quarter.
Rankine snapped that beautiful goal on his left then danced and waited for Tex to get into position for that long goal.
Thilthorpe, strong, great hands, elite at ground level, virtually unbeatable one-on-one.
I've apologised previously for my critical remarks about Milera until about Round 8, ish; he really impressed me yesterday.
To be fair Milera wasnt great early in the season, why many of us wanted him to find form 1st in the sanfl.

However, his recent form has been immense. Really enjoying how strong his one on one marking has been & not afraid to attack off half back.

Interesting to see Lloyd Meek on the bench going over footage on the laptop with Brett Ratten in game, obviously Mitchell had issues with the way he was matching up on ROB.
ROB had the better of Meek at stoppages.

In career best form.

I noted that Hawks supporters that were yappy early on in the game weren't interested in banter after quarter time. A few even evaporated with 2 minutes left, must have need to go to the toilet. One of the most yappy and arrogant supporter bases in the league, you would think they would enjoy some banter, but they were all back in their boxes.

He really does it all.
12 tackles as well, averages 7 a game which is huge.
Watching the replay now & before the game interview Dawson said he prides himself on the defensive side, including tackling.

Had one in the hamstring the other night, made me fall off my chair.
FU cramps
I'm still sore in my calf from cramp Wednesday night.

I'm told I should try magnesium supplements.

The crowd was on last night. Even when we got our first goal, the crowd was still very upbeat and loud - and it just got better from there.

That last 30 seconds or so where everyone was on their feet was special. I don’t think I’ve ever seen everyone on their feet like that.

There’s something special happening
Biggest crowd for a while.

Seemed more Hawks supporters than Port supporters last week.

I do wonder if that applause was a massive realisation we are finally out of the 7 year abyss and have the goods to be a contender.
On TV it looked spontaneous and very happy.
I'm in a NSW Motel but my best mate and his missus went and they said it was great being there. Uplifting.

And yes, I finally feel like we are out of the abyss of the last 7 years.
I still have lingering cranky misery and PTSD from that, especially 2022/23/24 but I definitely feel the tide has turned.
It's not just the winning (which I love) but the way/s we win.

I don't think we've got the foot-on-throat ruthlessness, toughness and consistency to beat Collingwood and Geelong to win a Flag this year, plus Nicks is still learning.
To get a Flag from here, I think we need both Draper and Curtin firing in the midfield and no borderline passengers in our best-23. For that we need two of Jones/Pedlar/Taylor/Cook/Edwards/Dowling to step up a notch and/or maybe another experienced and influential Draft-IN like ANB.

Re: Peatling of whom I was a big fan until ...
His fumble early in the first really worried me; it smacked of hearing footsteps as 2 Hawks pounced, poached the ball and goaled from it.
That kind of fumbly hesitance under pressure is not what we need going forward.

Anybody at the ground; did he just have an off-night or is there cause for concern?
Off night & been great nearly all season.

Players have an off night you know.

Silly questioning his courage too!

My take away is that I've well and truly seen enough from Cook to be fine with him having played his last seniors game for us. Trade, delist... don't care which. Time to move on.

Fogarty's touch and smarts at key moments was massive. Absolutely massive.
Quieter night, but what he did he did well.

Kicking our 1st goal was crucial to arrest momentum when we were under the pump.

I thought he looked a liability when he had the ball
Suggest watching the game closer as for the most part Bond had decent disposal.

Was one where he overcooked a handball... but it's not like everyone had perfect disposal.

Their cheer squad was more prevalent than Port’s last week!

For a cheer squad that bangs on about being so big and loud and what not, Port’a cheer squad presence was abysmal last week - like the team I guess 😂
