The time it is taking. The manager has had our offer for weeks, he is trying to see if Port has draft capital, which it doesn't.
I still feel he signs with us but for two years only.
And we’d all take it because who knows what happens at the end of 2 years.

For the sake of the game I hope that Nas stays with you guys. Us small clubs have trouble enough with attracting elite talent, it is heartbreaking to lose talent that you have nurtured and developed. Plus Port are absolutely horrible to deal with. They will offer nothing serious in return, just a handful of crap draft picks in a compromised draft that you will be expected to settle for.
I felt the same with LDU. As much as I would love him at the Saints I was happy to see him stay at North. If we keep poaching each other's players we're just cutting each other's throats.

This is all getting a bit ridiculous. Speculation for speculations sake

Plugger, the actual GOAT, left in 1994 - 1997 we play in a GF
GAJ left the Cats (won another GF, noting the side was stacked)
Judd the Eagles (won a GF)
Danger the Crows (not so good for Crows)

The list goes on. Players move, they come and go and there are no one man teams anymore. Dockers and Blues have had dual Brownlow winners in their sides and were still average/not successful

You always want a talent like Nas to stay, and he does have the exact attributes we have been starved of (Bont like... FU billings), but if he goes he goes. The sun will come up tomorrow and Port will remain as shit as they are becuase 1 man doesn't make a team.

If that is the case, the only thing that matters is the club brokers a solid deal, keeps morale and attitude positive and we continue to build a club that will be successful more often than not, opposed to bottoming out for 10 years for a year or two of maybe...

Matt Rowell was seen as the lord and saviour himself after a hot start - then has come back to the pack of elite talent but he isnt the sole reason the suns are winning. Jesus, even Kosi had a month from the gods.

Its this type of mindset that has left St Kilda where we have been forever. Some other clubs, on the other hand:

'Although getting Gary Ablett back was a big scalp for Geelong, the Cats also used the 24th pick to select midfielder Tim Kelly in the 2017 AFL draft.

The mature age recruit entered the club as a ready made on-baller, and took no time leaving his mark as Kelly finished in the top five at the Brownlow in his second season at AFL level.

The West Australian finished runner up in the Carji Greeves medal in both his opening two seasons, averaging over 24 disposals and a goal per game in his time at Geelong.'

Got nothing but picks for him, found a way to land Cameron with the picks and the rest is history.

Who told you that?
Haha zero chance I’ll be saying who but it is someone senior at the club.

Who knows maybe it’s bullshit or he changes his mind and he announces tomorrow!

I was also told by a different source at the club a few weeks ago they were confident he was going to sign for 4 years and that obviously hasn’t turned out the case so my honest opinion is no one has any idea what’s going on.

I guess the issue here is unless someone has a proven track record with inside info, it is hard to take seriously, though duly noted.

Yep fair - no sleep lost on my side.

I think you can have the best source in the world but until pen hits paper and he's standing in front of the media it’s all speculation whether inside knowledge speculation or complete guessing.

We are not winning a premiership with Caminiti as our full back 😂
Collingwood won one with Nathan Murphy (who got KOd in the first 3 minutes).

I keep saying this, the defensive group is way way more important than singular personel. Even Brisbane with Andrews need a core of complimentary bits around him.

If Tauru, Wilkie, Barrat work out as wed like with a good fleet of distributors then Cammas job is just lock down on one guy, he has all the tools to do that. Hes unlikely to ever be AA but if he can do a role IMO.

Agreed, I can't recall a club who splurged significant cap space on one player and won a flag

I'd take Nas at his word, "the club and the manager are working it out". It's an unprecedented situation with his recent form and being uncontracted. They are obviously crunching numbers.
For some supposedly in Law you can be quiet naive at times , what did you think he was going to say , f, ck the saints I'm outa here

At a point you can sell success for players to take less coin.

Look at Brisbanes list, how many of those guys could get more elsewhere. ****ing heaps of them.

We don’t have that now so just pay him, then try to convince him

He could have said he is parking it to the end of the season and wants to concentrate on football, which is the usual quote. Not being naive, just looking at all the evidence before us at the moment and the only evidence really that points to him leaving at the moment is that he hasn't signed yet. I won't repeat ad nauseum all the other factors which point to him staying.

This whole saga has been interesting as it definitely shows the glass half empty compared to the glass half full supporters.

Given this example a number of times, but was told to me personally by him that O'Meara was either going to Carlton or North and he ended up at the Hawks. He would have been as ITK as can be as it was about himself, but it was not correct. Maybe at the time it was, but things change.
That why I cut info from people some slack, things change.

This joint is absolutely cooked , the amount of rubbish getting posted at the moment is at all time high levels, there must be about 50 people with contacts at the club judging by the amount of " Iv heard , I'm told posts.
Everyone so desperate to known as the king :rooster: of Big footy.
Someone even went out on a limb and said he is waiting until the end of the season , that's outrageous

The guy playing fullback now?
Still not sure about Caminiti as a defender.

Not sure about him at any position, tbh.

Not saying he can't make it but he is a little slow to react to forward movement and gives away too many free kicks.

When wrestling one-on-one, he is pretty solid at stopping his opponent though.

He certainly has the competitive spirit but not sure if that's going to translate to being a successful full back.

EDIT: Just to be clear, I'm not writing him off, but I would be 50-50 on him making it long-term as a defender at the moment. And less confident he will develop into a gun defender.
