Highly doubt we'd drop our interest in him after he's already told the Giants he's coming to us

750k for a high-upside full back isn't as bad as people are making it out to be with the new CBA. Might be a slight overpay by ~100k but that's what you have to do to get someone out of their club

If we need money for Nas then Steele is the one to let go imo
He can’t play, full back that should be very interesting. He had no idea against the bulldogs, Couldn’t body up, couldn’t position himself to use his leap, lost his man in traffic, it was a masterclass.

This is genuinely going to be one of the longest periods in my life until we find out what nas is gonna do. I almost feeling like not watching any more games to shield myself from the hurt. Feels like a bad breakup. 😂

Question- who would you rather have ? - battle or tauru
Battle and Tauru rather than Travaglia.

SOS was a nepo hire by Lyon and has a terrible track record of being single-minded and screwing things up at his club. Had a horrible strike rate recruiting with an incredible amount of early picks at GWS, and then recruited most of his GWS flops again at Carlton. Now he's obsessed with bringing Carlton players to St Kilda. I wonder if he'll go on a St Kilda recruiting frenzy at his next club.

We also seem to have completely fumbled negotiations with several of our best young players. We wouldn't budge on giving Battle more money until it was too late. We seem to have low-balled and pissed off Windhager. And you can't tell me that the Nas and TDK situations are unrelated. We have a player who is genuinely worth the biggest contract in the league, but we can't offer it to him because we're already promised it to Carlton's bog average ruckman.

Geez you talk some utter garbage lol

NWM is all over social media atm, with amazing clips of his talents. When we become really good we have a huge chance to bring a generation of new fans to the club, that's how good he is. He's transcendent, there's only been a few in the history of the game that have been like that. That cut's through, no matter what team you go for, you sit down at home or go just to see him play. That's the level he's at right now. Financially you can't put a number on how valuable that is.

That's why this one is different, and so important. if he stays long term, for the club financially it would be enormous.

This is some gold standard hyperbole. We have plenty of bog average ruckmen running around in the league. For example, Bailey Williams at West Coast. TDK may not be worth the reported money, but he ain't bog average.

So according to some, we should renege on our offer to TDK of $1.7m. And do the same for Aleer and his $700,000.

And then add that $2.4m to the $1.4m or so we’ve already offered Nas.

He can then tell his mummy he’s staying at the Saints on $3.8m p.a. as he hands her the keys to her new Lamborghini.

Then we sack SOS and head to the mystical land of everlasting flags.

Tom Morris “no one knows what nas wants to do, not even his closest friends. All 3 clubs are confident that he will be there (at their respective clubs)”

Sounds like Benny Williams is maximising his clients value.

Just wait til the media finds out Williams is also in talks with the Philadelphia Eagles and Manchester United.

I hate the crom but I hate port more. atleast the crows have better assets. Soligo and curtain

And if we lose Nas and others because they don't want to hang around waiting to finish a rebuild? We already had a natural pick and would have had one of Tauru or Travaglia regardless.

We definitely missed Battle this year. Tauru looks very exciting but his impact is still miles off Battle's at this point.

Every move has a flow on effect. We sold off a bunch of GOPs to get picks too replace them with a bunch of highly paid GOPs under Lethlean. We need to avoid the same mistakes.

I can't see a way a deal gets done with Port, I also don't get the allure, they're going to be a bog average footy club for the next few years.

StC, look at everything that the club has done for young Nas. Save from offering him a deal to be the highest paid player in existence before he broke out (which still might not have been enough based on the lack of activity now). Revisionist history and hindsight is great, but none of us, not even SOS could see the impact he would have over the last 6 weeks and the media beat up that would ensue.

I said ages ago that he could be the best player in the AFL, if your list managers can't see the same thing as the punters, they are a bit shit.

So what I am hearing is either way Ben is basically burning bridges with 2 clubs come end of season with the way this has been handled

I don't understand it when people keep saying "crows have more assets"

Yeah they have a 2025 1st, but that's looking like pick 25 at this stage. That's a mid second round pick..

And what makes people think soligo would want to jump off a premiership contender to come play for us..

Or west Aussie Dan curtin who is about to win the rising star...

Or Sid draper who is born and bred in Adelaide..

Wake up people

100% .

I think Port player management are living in la la land.
They want to get all the major SA players now at other clubs including a number 1 draft pick and a player that is the most sought after player in the league by paying unders with a few shitty future picks that will be late 1st rounders at best whilst retaining all their best players.
Yep sounds about right.

Exactly. Neither club has desirable assets.

Adelaide's first pick is going to be in the 20s. That's putrid. Adding Nas to their squad isnt going to make their future picks any better. Adding a B grader to crappy picks doesnt make those picks any better in a trade.
