Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

I must be in the minority that I think Ken delivered as good as humanly possible with the list he had.

He either delivered right where they were ranked, or slightly above imo.

They ****ed up in 2020 by losing that home Prelim to Richmond, but Tiges were unfortunately on an absolute tear after copping heat all year about their behaviour in the hub.

Ken isn't an amazing coach, but certainly not a bad one. He'd be an ok addition to the team in some capacity.

Why would anyone not want Hinkley at the club in some capacity next year? Very doubtful he'd be directly involved in day to day coaching...Port players clearly love him and he's been brilliant building Port's culture. Has one of the best H&A win/loss percentages in the past decade. And he's by all accounts, an excellent development coach.

Add to that he has a good relationship with Voss, it would seem like a smart move to me.

Not the decision I wanted or would’ve made, I’m shocked and stunned. Didn’t see this coming at all and I’m worried we could be choosing “stability” with the wrong people. I think it’s a risk as next year could be a waste of season if this goes pear shaped.

But I trust Graham Wright and if this is what he thinks is best for the football club, I trust him and back him in. Now we see who he puts around Vossy and the changes he makes in the football department and list.

I’m gonna back Vossy, and those on here who think we are tanking or what us to tank next year then I think you should take your loser mentality and support another club.

A massive problem is that when we get the bloody pill our players are so far out of position (often as far back as defensive side of centre) that we are busting our asses just to make a forward movement.

That's got to be coaching given it happens every week.

I think it's an unintended result of our defensive zone being so inadequate. Our only option to compensate is with numbers flooding back, then if we do get the ball we're stuffed and can't do anything with it.

Multiple different ITKs confidently stating that Voss was out the door last night and again this morning, and then this, i am worried about the direction of this club under a coach that seems to be out of his depth.

Not the decision I expected or wanted.

But it’s certainly the more difficult choice.

GW has taken a massive risk here. If he’d said sack and replace Voss there’s almost no blow-back. If we go 1-4 or 2-6 next year the screaming will be heard from space. The risk of delaying the recovery by 12 months will bring a lot of pressure.

My guess is GW thinks the list is more than 12 months from being repaired so he can give Voss his head while Wright tries to fix the rest.

it’s a big boy decision and one out of character for our club.

I’m kinda happy about it tbh.

I think I tend to agree, even though it's not a particularly pleasant idea for the short term. It's not a 2026 issue, it's a '27/'28'29 issue...

The thing I'm curious about is what gun assistants are actually going to come? Also, isn't Hansen meant to be a gun assistant? Surely him and Vossy can't both stay (Hansen also under contract) in which case we are already one gun assistant down on where we started.

Agreed, they had 9 years together to achieve something and couldn't quite get there. Really wouldn't hurt Voss to have a new senior voice for him - but again, depends on the role for Hinkley.

Surprised and very un Carlton like and in some way I’m glad because I feel some of the blame is on the players … they have been given the reprieve so many times and coasting for huge checks …. Also feel GW was giving fake leaks … smart move… also will judge the move when all the changes are made .. hopeful there is major changes elsewhere

The problem with Hinkley is he subscribes to the same sort of gameplan theory of Vossy. Obviously he mentored him.

We need fresh ideas at the club.

Footy revolving around splitting marking contests, winning stoppages etc as a sole source of scoring simply struggles in 2025.

Long game. If anything, this might be a bit of an fu to some of these "high profile" players who seem to think they run the place...

We give Voss his full tenure, so we're not just sacking another coach. Same time, he will prove to be unsuitable to take us forward come end of next season.

Get a new coach, rebuild with a stack of 2026 draft picks and by 2030, if we get things right, we'll be in contention for a flag.

That is what I think has happened, you send a message to the players by keeping Voss. At the same time you reinforce to Voss that he needs to get help and fast!

I'm assuming Wright after everything he's seen and heard, all the player and staff catchups etc has come to the conclusion Voss isn't the main reason for our performance.

Will wait to see who else exits but to your statement re the players, regardless of your "status" in the game or your pay packet you don't get to hire and fire your direct boss, you're an employee and others are tasked with that job.

Nothing has changed in that regard same as nothing has changed in this regard, if as a player you aren't happy with your boss's decisions or that of your employer you're free to leave.

Word is? Is that the same word that had Voss sacked? Longmire approached and coaching? Simpson approached and selling his house?
Words are often just people trying to look important. Stick to facts and data. Paddy hasn't fired under any coach. He has some great assets but greater deficiencies. I hope he comes good but he's running out of time. To suggest that is Voss' fault is nonsense IMO.
