AFL-era
Ablett Snr
Ablett Jnr
Garry Hocking
Joel Selwood
Matthew Scarlett

Paul Couch could fit in there as well at Selwood's expense IMO, but Selwood's toughness and white-line attitude probably gets him there.
Garry Hocking was no less tough than Selwood, and also kicked 50+ metres with both feet. He stays without question.

From the posters above, I have Guy McKenna down as a West Coast great.
At Hawthorn, John Platten pound-for-pound is one of the toughest players the game has ever seen.

I appreciate that you have Sav Rocca in there.

In 2002 or 2003, I was at a North v Collingwood match at The Dome.
Rocca didn't have a good match, and neither did North.
Anyway, during the match, some stupid old git said, "you were never any good, Saverio."

I'm sitting there wondering if he just jumped on the bandwagon, or was just a complete idiot )or both).

Rocca was in the top few full forwards of the 90s. He is too easily lost among the Ablett-Dunstall-Lockett trio.
He was more consistent than Modra, Kernahan and Carey were CHFs by nature, and Longmire was injured, and spent the 2nd half of the 90s on the backline or in the ruck.

How can Nick Diacos be in your list when he's playing his 4th season?

All time is not about potential, it's about past performance and 4 years of a player does not equal the whole career of say Steel Sidebottom or even someone like Heath Shaw who played only 170 odd games.

Daicos best is better than both. Brownlow in season 2 if not for injury. Runner up last year and maybe a winner this season.

He's worthy.

Daicos could get hit by a bus tomorrow as the saying goes or worse, demand a trade to Carlton.

On track but you can't win the Brownlow only playing 4 games.

Nice list,
I think I have Walters higher than McPharlin. Sandi probably 6th and only because it took him longer to get going and was injured a bit.
Sandilands 270 games more than both Walters and McPharlin
He won 2 bnf the clubs highest honour
Walters and McPharlin never won a bnf that’s my tie breaker

Defenders and small forwards rarely win anything but I didn't go back and check stats so fair enough.

Not sure how you got Bell in there though with 163 games unless you include his off field stuff too.

Captained us in a dark time and was our shining light before pav hit top gear and took over.
Dominant midfielder 3 BNFs like Pav and Fyfe had many a game carrying the team
