At least two of those guys would need to go to the saints- maybe all three. NWM is ones in gen type player.
Yet all i hear is port will send whitlock and berry a first from where i dont know 🤣🤣🤣 if thats the case for adelaide it will be bergman , butters and whitlock

So three picks in the late teens. Woozers!!
Season isnt over yet…

Crows could do a port, finish top and choke.. two home finals and lose both.

Then drop back down the ladder into 9th or something next season.

Look at the Dees in the years before they won the flag… flying high in 2018.. went garbage in 2019 and then flew back up the ladder in 2020..

Happens more often than you think.

Three firsts for an uncontracted player is what the saints will accept if NWM pick the crows.. if the crows actually offered that much up.. just in my opinion, as a crow supporter I’d be quite happy for them to give that up.
They will get even less if he picks port as they dont even have a first this year and will need to ask the AFL to see if they will be allowed to use any future firsts.

Neither crows nor port will want to part with decent players.. we all love to do the playstation BS trade scenarios in here.. but that never happens. the players themselves actually want to be traded for a start and if they do they are likely to pick clubs at the top end of the ladder anyway.. clubs who will have late first rounders so you are back to square one.

So pick 18, Pick 18 and Pick 18.

Which will essentially become 3 x pick 25s. Even worse when Tassie come in.

Wouldnt have thought so.
Well the onus is going to have to be on the Saints to pry one of our players out, after all Nas is out of contract and most of our best 22 isn’t

You would imagine one of Soligo, Worrell or Rachele will be in Black white and red next year.

The crows know that NWM is a complete game changer for them. They will be genuine box office next year if they land him.

You have to give quality to get quality. A first, a second and one of these players is ballpark.

None of those players want to go to st kilda and no club us going to force them to. Gee whiz this board resembles an idiocy room at times.
It will be 2/3 first rounders and Victorian fringe players that actually WANT to go home for opportunity-guys like Edwards, Ryan, nankervis, Taylor etc. Maybe someone like Berry if st kilda can turn his head but it certainly won't be guys like rachele or soligo-thats fantasy land NBA crap.

Teams pursue arguably the best young talent in the league knowing they don't have the draft capital to make a fair trade, and then their supporters balk at the thought that the might need to trade a good player back to make it happen.

This must be studied.

Because the system tells them they dont have to as the player managers have the power and the afl won't intervene. Have you been living under a rock the last 10 years?

It's amazing how everyone ignores the most obvious outcome of all this, which is he's staying.

Joey Montagna confident as. Eddie Maguire believes Saints supporters have reason to be confident. The trade looks like it will be almost impossible to pull off. Port the clear frontrunners form SA and suddenly they are out and it's Crows.

Very confident he is staying.

So if you are so confident why hasnt he signed 99% of players that havent signed by now are going it just a matter of where

They would have to maybe lose one of those to another club to then get more to trade. None will want St Kilda as you say.

The Crows will provide a list of untouchables.

Saints will ask a question.

Someone highly rated will get a tap on the shoulder from the Crows and will likely be shown the door.

The same thing happened to Ryan Burton. Was happy at the Hawks (although there were rumblings he would likely be on the move back to SA at some point) but when he knew he was being offered for Wingard he got the hint and made his move.

If he has chosen the crows they can easily manufacture 3 firsts of value. Harder for us I would say without some sacrifical decisions.

Difference is all 3 have 3-5 year contracts

Ryan Burton was signed for another 3 seasons IIRC when he was traded out to Port.

It's not out of the realms of possibility.

This could be the Crows sliding door moment. Are they ruthless enough to trade out a favourite son if it comes to it?

Doesn’t play remotely like McLeod.

- Doesn’t break lines like McLeod

- Doesn’t burst from packs like McLeod

- Doesn’t have McLeods leg.

Does have a better leap, can turn a defender better after a marking contest, can hold down a key marking position.

And if you don’t think Mickey O was ‘clutch’ - watch the 2005 PF vs St Kilda - last qtr.
He is different to Macca. Macca had more sublime skills, more silk, while Nas is more raw and unpredictable.

Every team does the same thing.
You think clubs dont pursue a possible player because they sat there and looked at what they had to trade?
Nah, all clubs go for the players they want and need.
Just look at hawthorn. Its reported they are into both Harley Reid and Butters, knowing both will cost a fortune.
